BE SURE TO GET VIDEO!

id go, but it would just be a waste of tires and gas, since im awaiting my built T56's arrival. 3rd and 4th gear shifts arent fast anymore on my current trans lol.

Results?

I'm selling that bucket of bolts.....well not really....but I am dissappointed.

First off, ATCO really made an *** of themselves on Friday night. Its like bike weekend so the place was jammed with bikes, which i personally have no interest in at all. So anyway, I get there and am in the lanes by 6:30 and don't get my first run till 8pm because of all the bikes. Then they come over the PA and say the lanes are closed to bikes and this is at 9pm or so. So i am thinking good, I'll get my second run, hot lap it and get my third run before the lanes close at 10pm. Well, a bunch of the bike guys protested in the lanes and ATCO caved in, and gave a good number of bikes another run and one of them oiled the top end down....NICE JOB ATCO. So I only got two runs and here's the results. A video of the first run is in the multimedia section.

This was my first time running on ET Streets so I didn't know what to expect. I was hoping for better 60' times in the 1.7 range, et's in the 12.10-12.20 range and trap speeds in the 115-116 range. Sadly, I missed all my goals

Run 1 (see video)

60'...........2.102 so much for the ET Streets
330..........5.612
1/8...........8.411
mph..........88.86
1000.........10.787
1/4...........12.784
mph..........113.81

This was with the tires at 16psi and no real launch technique, the guy in the other lane double bulbed me and the tree went quick once I light the second lamp, so I didn't really launch it real well. Just brought it up and let the clutch go and went. The tires felt soft and I could feel the car felt squirmy from half track on, a feeling I never had before, but then I've never been on stickies or slicks before. I knew this run wasn't a good one and the timeslip shows it.

So onto Run 2 (camera battery died, no video)

60'...........1.945 better, but still sucky considering the tires
330..........5.390 .222 better
1/8...........8.171 .240 better
mph..........89.05 0.19 better
1000.........10.561 .226 better
1/4...........12.570 .214 better
mph..........113.16 .65 worse?

For this run I was took a quick poll in the pits of people running ET Street and everyone else (3) was running 25-30psi last night. I called vegaken and he said run em at 15psi. I had aired them up to 20psi as a compromise, but I thought they were more like a slick than drag radial??? Anyway, this run I did a much better burnout and brought the motor up to 4000 and let the clutch fly and flat shifted the thing, I knew this was my last run of the night so I let it all out. The launch felt better, but I had some wheel hop I think and that maybe because I softened the rear shocks up too much. (Too many changes at once is bad.) But the car seemed to pull hard and I think it barked the tires on every gear change, not really sure what that means (too much psi in the tire?), but the car lost mph? I really wish i had video of this run. I might have short shifted forth possibly???? But I was dissappointed. I really thought with the ET streets I could get down low 12 or with some luck a high 11.

Try again this week maybe.

Hey Qwikbird unfortunatley I was there friday night also,I have a 2000 red z and I have mt drag radials but mine is an auto with a 3200 vig. and I have found mine work best at 20 psi when the track is so so and 24 when its really prepped which I dont think it was friday. The fiasco with the bikes was really a mess as lately us street guys have been getting screwed many times this year on the so called street nights, it really is a shame. Anyway I only got 1 run in then left went 12.59 1.77 60 ft. which is about average for my car right now also I was in the right lane which lately I have had better luck in hooking. Which lane were you in? Your car sounds really strong and I think I remember seeing it in the staging lanes.Hopefully as the weather gets cooler thurs. and fri. nights will get better down there and getting 4 or 5 passes like it should be will start happening again.
