SFCs, LCAs, anything else ask him for yourself. I voucher that his car is up to these specs, seen in person, been in it, goes to atco, thats his dyno vid (its an old one). Plus his trans/verter is bad he ordered a new one, should definately launch him high in the psi.

I'm sure its possible with a turbo, they tend to trap pretty high. The only comparison I can think of is that the turbo Q8 guys trap about 10-15 mph faster than the n/a dragsters that are going two tenths faster.

The car puts down 500 whp and 520 wt to the ground it still has the STOCK trans in it but it has bin rebuilt, but it slip when it goes to shift from second to third gear. If I disconnect the vaccum line on my v6 it sounds very similar.

+1 ive experienced that first hand, you were there to witness it lol.
ive gotten past that part though lol. As i recall, everytime i heard about that car, it was blowing up and needed another motor rebuild.

Howerver, if ANYONE says they ran a certain time with their car, yall would agree with me that this person would need to provide us with video to really prove anything, or at the very least, some credible witnesses from the boards here. but video would be best! :D :D

The long-time v6 guys should know this well......just look at how long people used to rip Shirl apart for not having any proof of her 11 second pass(es). We have since seen a video (thanks to Batman) of her making a 12.0 pass, but nothing in the 11's.

Same thing applies here. If you post up a time that doesn't seem right, you better be prepared to back it up with video and / or credible witnesses. Timeslips can be faked too easily.

There have been a couple V6 people that have dyno #'s in the high 4XX's and low 5XX RWHP.... and me with my 315 RWHP V6 whoops their asses up and down the track. Dyno queens don't impress me.

Also, your buddy had 2 ways to approach the nay sayers on the board, he could have provided specific info and be pleasant...... or be a d!ck.... he chose the latter.... whcih causes his credibility EVEN lower.

So..... until the video appears.... doubtful that we will believe it.

yeah 12.5 isn't the limit but look at my post above, i stated 12.5@122 , that mph is definately lower than 12's. he blew a head gasket on that run plus had a broken TC, now his setup is finished for this year just has to take care of two i tems on the list as i wrote in this post.

When do I need a roll bar or roll cage, and what should it look like?
A roll bar is required in any convertible running 13.49 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and in other cars beginning at 11.49. The roll bar is accepted in vehicles running as quick as 10.00 second e.t., provided the stock firewall and floorboard is intact, other than for installation of wheel tubs. The rollbar must be constructed of minimum 1 ¾ inch o.d. x .118 inch wall mild steel tubing, or 1 ¾ x .083 chrome moly tubing, and must conform to the following diagram...

If the floor and/or firewall has been modified, then a full roll cage is required beginning at a 10.99 e.t. A full roll cage is required in any vehicle running 9.99 seconds or quicker, and any vehicle running 135 mph or faster (regardless of e.t.). The roll cage must be constructed of minimum 1 5/8 o.d.x .118 mild steel tubing, or 1 5/8 x .083 chrome moly tubing, and must conform to the following diagram...


Granted, I am not sure I would go spouting off the NHRA rule book to a tech inspector, but this is as it's written. Note that it's a roll BAR, not a roll CAGE that's required.

james has been in the game for 10yrs now and knows the ins and outs of the v6s...

back when i was in it i was gonna base my v6 off of the GN cars and go from there

to make a car work, build the car from the back to the front....start w/ building a rear,then drive line then tranny then motor
