Does Boston have all its players back in full health yet? Hows Manny and Yukilus? Gagne isnt as good as he was, Papelbon isnt himself lately, and Wakefield is off the roster. If they're not at 100%, I'm going with;
Philly over Colorado in 5
Cubs over Arizona in 4
Cubs over Philly in 6
Yanks over Cleveland in 5
Anaheim over Boston in 4
Yanks over Anaheim in 5
Yanks over Cubs in 6
The big factors are;
Yanks pitching not sliding
Anaheim pitching holding Boston to low runs as Anaheim doesnt have a high scoring offense
Yanks scoring on Cleveland's decent two starters
Philly and Colorado will be a great series, both teams finished the years out very strong, Philly 13-4, Colorado 14-1. Key will be Philly pitching keeping Colorado's balls in Citizen Bank Park, Colorado avoiding Howard and closing the holes in their offense.
Arizona finished strong and the Cubs will need to stay focussed. Cubs need Soriano not to suck in the Post Season as he has in the past (finished the 2003 post season with like a .031 batting average, he went like 1 for 52). And Arizona needs to hit Zambrano and upset the Cubs flow and get Panella pissed off.

:w00t: everyone picks the yanks to win it all. i just hope boston beats the angels cuase we all know the yankees can't. i'd like to see ny vs philly. but i hate the national league so i could care less who represents the nl.
go yanks

i don't see the phillies making it to the series. they shoudl get by colorado, but i don't think the cubs ro d-backs woudl have any real trouble disposing fo them.
the yanks are cruising along, not really hot, but not really cold either. if the middle relief doesn't fall apart the way it did midseason, they shoudl be in good shape and have no problem making it to the world series.
boston will dispose of anaheim without any real issue i think. anaheim has been burning up those bull pen innings rather freely late in th eseason, i supposed to try to keep starters fresh. i think it is going to hurt them now. the last few years it seems to be 2nd and 3rd pitchers deciding more games than starters.

yup, and he looks jsut like he did the season before the yanks got rid of him. hit or miss, mostly miss anymore. lol
rockies up 1 game and today was the phils star attraction pitcher. first four batters in the line up a combined 0 for 16. ouch!!! that closer for the rockies has a slider that jsut isn't fair. lol

Lou lost that one for the Cubs. Taking Zambrano out that early was nothing short of stupid. And Soriano has continued his record of post season suckage.

the cubs didnt score another run, what would leaving zambrano in have done?

He was only at around 80 pitches and gave up only one run on four hits in six innings. He was also swinging a good bat, so the Cubs lost his pitching and offense, in return for the pitcher that blew the game. Keeping him in would have at least kept the game tied through 7.

Back to back home runs and its only the first inning. If Philly loses game #2 at home, its all over.

I agree. You can't really assume CZ would nbot have given any up. Now his offense, that is an interesting argument.
Cubs lost for the same reason why the phils lost and the angels lost - they didn't score enough runs. Not pitching.
