yeah, i am gonna start it early this year.

our christmas stuff and snow throwers and winter junk have now been set up in the store for a month and i hate it. wht is up with the holidays starting before the friggin summer even ends now? even our idiot customers that will buy any shiny piece of crap you put in front of them are bitching about it.
why does it take 3 months of sales to cover a 1 day friggin holiday?!?!?!?!?!

I noticed the Lowes near me did that too. Home Depot has Halloween stuff up still which is better because its October haha. Christmas is gettin more and more commercialized. They could at least wait until after thanksgiving!

the thing i don't get is that it is a home improvement store. do they think people will suddenly be inspired to spend thousands doing upgrades so that the paint on the wall is fresh when they hand their kids the gifts? it doesn't work like that.
summer is when home improvement is big. more daylight, grass that is actually green, and weather that is much more pleasant to work in. this time of year they shoudl take it down a few notches and sell rakes and lawn bags and stuff like that. wait until it is actually cold, or at least below 85 to try to sell inflatable santa clauses!!!!

I hate it, too. I design and manage retail packaging for major retailors, and I usually start working on the Xmas stuff in early spring!

had to find some BS at kmart today, and walked up on a display of god damn martha stewart fake christmas trees, then a thing with those white wire light up deer and such. And what pissed me off more than this crap being 2 months early... was there was a god damn CHRISTMAS DOLPHIN. One of them white wire thingys, with a friggin santa hat on it, rocking back and forth. I wanted to fling it across the entire damn store.

Yes...Lowes is a Home Improvement store...but their target market is geared towards women. For whatever reason...Women love to buy decorations year after year....Still havent figured out what they did with the same stuff that they bought the year before  After 4th of July seasonals sales go down -- To drive the sales back up they put out their x-mas decorations, fire places, snow blowers, etc. And the crazies run out and buy this crap bc they are afraid that if they dont get it right when it comes out then it will vanish off planet Earth. (lol) HD is in the process of doing their reset...but they are always a month behind Lowes. --Sad thing is...people are actually buying this crap already.
..Look at the brighter side........Atleast they arent playing X-mas music yet........

I'm not sure where the hell you people are shopping but I haven't seen any x-mas stuff yet and I was at fortunoff last night. Huge halloween display, but no X-mas yet.

And for what it's worth the winter equipment that is there now won't be as soon as the first snow falls. WHY? because all the a $ $ hats that didn't check their blower from last year forgot it sucked and now want a new one and POOF they usually disappear in a day as soon as snow is predicted. Some people like to be prepared for what is coming and not wait to fight over the last snow blower or leaf blower in the next 3 weeks.

I agree with this rule and I believe it should be strictly enforced... by force if necessary.
