JJust wanted to introduce myself to the site and im hoping someone here in south jersey can help me out.

Car is a 94 Camaro 3.4L

My SES light came on the other day and i have been doing alot of research on the OBDI OBDII here on the site. Now I know the car is OBDI but i cant find a shop that can scan it for me. Does anyone have a scanner? I would rather bring someone a some of their favorite brew than spend around $200 for a scanner.

Also having trouble starting her. Takes about three tries to get her going. Engine turns over but wont fire up. Fuel Pump? All new wires and spark plugs as the engine was rebuild about 3-4k ago. One problem at a time though i really want the SES light off.

You might be able to jump two terminals on the OBD1 connector to get the SES light to flash the codes. I dont remember which two terminals to jump. Its been a long time since i worked on an OBD1 system.

Welcome aboard! Have it done RIGHT at a shop that knows what to look for, and can make the repair. You get what you pay for!!!:2cents:

Have it scanned and find out what the code it, might be related to your starting issue? An issue like your having could be a few things and without the right tools you could end up throwing allot of parts and money at the wrong thing. Spark, fuel, ECM, electricla?

And Welcome!

DTC - 93 Transmission pressure control solenoid circuit error

DTC - 15 Engine coolant temp sensor error (low temp indicated)

I guessing the low temp because if not hot out anymore and my fan is on 24/7 because of the SES light is on

code 15 would be a bad coolant temp sensor...its reading cold all the time in other words, even if the car warms up, which would affect hot starting, and would also add timing when it shouldnt

code 93...does it shift weird at all?

also dropped code 75 76 77 - EGR code. whats that gona cost me?

i have started to notice that the car for lack of a better explanation, jumps into gear sometimes.

ok now im confused. i looked up the codes online and found 93 as "93 Transmission pressure control solenoid circuit error" but i just looked at my haynes repair manual and its telling me that code 93 is "PCS circuit error"

75-77 is a digital EGR error - check the digital EGR circuit for the number 1,2,3 soleniod for possible short to ground or open circuit in the solenoid wireing.

ok so i replaced the EGR valve and the coolant sending unit, NO SES LIGHT! just gota see if i drop the code 93 when i take it for a test drive to work.

Good job!

Aint it amazing how something like a stuck EGR or simple vacuum leak can cause so much crap?
