Friday afternoon the lift was moved over to the barn. I started the car up (sounded like I had washers thrown down my carb) and put it on, raised it up. So far Ive been pressed for time but I have the exhaust, accessories, and alternator off the motor, and took the carb to my buddies house to use for his car. This week the whole front clip will come off, and next weekend I believe the motor will be out. I was down at the Old Time Drags today at Atco, and picked up a Torker II intake for it so I think its time to get some major work done. I have a few pics that will come later on, but they will be in the Multimedia section...Ill keep this updated though :-)

I had something go bad on the top end of the motor, so pulling the whole motor, new top end, and finally doing the 4speed swap also. The things getting a bit of a bigger cam, and a few other goodies to make it run a little better.

Everything is out, time to get digging into the motor tomorrow if I can get the damn flexplate off. Its giving me some trouble, but tomorrow is a new day.

Cool job. But I'm a little confused...the engine you pulled out looks like a small block Chevy. And I never heard of a s. b. Chev in a Fairlane...

I know, such a waste of a good motor...

Well, ya do have that 460 I gave ya...that would drop right in the Fairlane, and ya could put the 327 in something cool...like my Chevette!

Im gonna try not to  Id love to see it back on the road before winter, but I would like to just take all winter and clean, repaint, and possibly put a roll bar in the car if I can get some extra money together.

Flexplate came off with a little persuasion. Need to find my balancer puller after class, ill keep you updated. So far nothing seems to be problematic.

Quick Rant.
I knew it went too easy last night no problems besides the flexplate but even that was no big deal. I went out to run to the store real quick...truck wouldnt start. After an hour we figured the fuel pump isnt kicking on, we got it started for 5 minutes until the pump fully kicked the bucket and the thing stalled. Looks like The car will be on hold for the night or until I can get the truck running again.
