Welp, started work on the AMX at 9 am, and just finished up for the day, say 6 pm. And what did I accomplish? Installed and wired up an alternator.
Yup, that's it. One stinking alternator. And it was a one wire alternator, ta boot. Granted, I did have to run out to get some hardware to mount it, and that took about an hour. And I had to go to the parts store and get a shorter belt, and that took about 45 minutes. And I had to run out to the electronics store because I ran out of wire, and that took about an hour. So, 9 hours minus 2 hours and 45 minutes left me with a work day of 6 hours and 15 minutes. Yup, took me 6 hours and 15 minutes to install a one wire alternator. I know...I SUCK!!! :-x
PS: OK, in defense of myself....I had to "massage" the alternator to make it fit my brackets properly, AND I had to run the feed wire all the way back to the battery in the trunk, which involved painstakingly running the wire under the car while placing zip ties to hold the wire every 4 inches. Then there was the matter of cosmetically making the job look kosher. And let's not forget me having to fix the jack that didn't want to pump up. So... yeah, OK, I SUCK!!! :-x
