Basically, it slides the gears back & forth. How much depends on the trans.

a shift fork is a very simple part it selects the dirfferent gears in a trans a 4 speed has 3 reverse has its own 1 / 2 has one and 3 / 4 has one they slide gears into and out of the different speeds the picture might help see the 3 forks in a stick unit - jz

No, this is a potential daily driver. and the only way I would be able to get this car is if I parked my car in the driveway, with no intention of going fast in my car for a long time.

He wants to buy a WRX with a bent shift fork with money he doesn't have. Like I said if it has a bent fork the previous owner most likely beat the piss out of it and is handing you a live grenade with the pin released.

how do you know its money i DONT have? stfu
a bent fork in a WRX!?!?! I'd stay away from that if I were you. I drove a really beat up 04 STI once and shifting that thing was a pain in the ***! The car was VERY fast (not even close to stock), but what a chore to drive. if you want a WRX, sell off all your stuff and buy a nice one.
