anyone here play? anyone here interested in playing? i just got a server setup, 100%, uses the patched 2.2.3 client. 24x7

DIRECTIONS HOW TO PLAY:
1) Browse to http://stomping.servegame.com/ and REGISTER (this is your new user/pass for server auth)

2) On the left pane under "Game Guide", click How to Play.. It tells you everything, especially if you already have the game installed and updated, it shows you how to edit the server file.

3) Enjoy !

How does one go about logging onto yours? Also, can you control gold and everything like the old Ragnarok Online stuff was?

yes i have my own WoW server up and running 24x7, there a file in your wow directory you can change the server settings easily, and you can play on my server for free anytime you want. i do have total control, i have three GMs on the server aside from myself and we're looking for users.

lol ok. well i don't have a signup page setup just yet, but you have to edit the realmlist.wtf file in your C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\ directory, put a ; before both lines, then at the bottom add the following line:
set realmlist stomping.servegame.com

PM me a user/pass you would like to use to access the server. I'll have a signup page up asap.

Thats awesome! I beta'd the original one back in like November 05 and played it for a little when it came out. I may be interested once I see what my new schedule is like.

you need to have the burning crusades install, everything patched. client version 2.2.3 is the newest.

I like to be able to shoot n00bs with guns and vehicles, preferably with a AH-1Z Cobra, or AK47, in first person.

But I must say... Good luck with your server, as I never ever will look at WoW on the retail store's shelf, ever. Also....

haha tru tru, the server it's all residing on has three 500gig drives :)

if you have to download the entire game its a lot downloading. you can still play regular WoW w/o TBC but i'd recommend just doing it all.

can you download it in pieces? i get kicked off the internet here if i download more then 4gb in one week. although while im at work i believe that there isnt a limit, looks like i might have to burn some dvds :twisted: actually some one probably has it on the DC++ hub which doesnt affect my bandwith cap

yea you do, i finally got on last night with eric's help. it took forever to download everything. i just set up remote desktop on my pc so now i can play it at work :twisted:

edit: thats pretty gay, it wont let me play through a remote desktop connection :mad:

Hey, can someone try to signup at the website listed in the first post of this thread and tell me if it let you create an account. if it did let me know, if it didin't also let me know. Seems as though for some reason it's only letting some people signup.

Someone said the website you go to to DL the patches might also automatically try to install the latest 2.2.3 patch, preventing all the other patches from DLing because it thinks you already have the most updated patch (2.2.3). Has anyone encountered this? DO I just cancel the DL if it tries to DL a patch out of order?

I'm worried about changing the .wtf file. I have no idea how that works when I launch WoW - will it automatically find the server? Or do I have to do something different at login to make it look for the server vs. the Blizzard servers?

Finally, I know a few folks around the country who play WoW (this will be my first time). Are you limiting access to this free server to NJFBOA folks, or to a certain number of players, or no restriction at all? I haven't said anything yet, but Im sure some players would love to play for free.

Hey, access to this server is public. You want the most current version, 2.2.3, it's the only version that will work on this server. About the WTF file, just follow directions found on my site and you'll be fine, if you wanted to go back to play the pay blizz servers then just go back into the file and edit it back. When you launch wow it loads the realmlist.wtf file.

Vulcan - Moloch, Undead Warlock 8. Having an absolute blast with this guy and will probably keep playing him. The Imp he summons has some pretty funny sayings.

Can characters be moved to different servers? Can I move my Warlock to Apollo from Vulcan?

I chatted with Eric last night - after he kept summoninig bosses that killed me instantly - and talked about getting more people to play. I never see anyone on Vulcan so I'd like to move to Apollo if thats possible (without starting over).

I re-installed the game in the order that was given on the website and I am still getting the message:

Unable to validate game version

I tried to go to the stomping.servegame.com website after re-installing and couldn't get there either.

try the site again. about the unable to validate, did you install burning crusades ? right click WoW.exe and make sure its 2.2.3.xxxx , nothin else, then ur fine, then install the launcher that's on the website or link above.

The PC I was planning to use for this crapped out on me a while ago. I just haven't put the time into fixing it yet, so haven't been on in months. Not sure when I'll get back to it. :(
