Its a Revell Scott Sharp's RAIN-X Camaro 1993 SCCA Trans Am Race car. They only made these in 1994 and they seem to be pretty rare. Well thanks to Ryan (Knipps) he spotted a unopened model on Ebay for a measly $7! I obviously had to snatch this one right up! I'm going to build this one in the same paint scheme as my car and then as soon as another pops up on Ebay (Hopefully the Hot Wheels car) I'm going to snatch it up and save it in the box.

This kit has a fully detailed & removable body, super detailed chassis, engine & drive train, this kit is molded in Yellow, it has 118 pieces, clear with chrome plated parts & black vinyl tires, colorful sponsor decals, detailed & illustrated instructions are also included.

So far its the closest LT1 model car I could find that isn't an AMT model or a convertible!

Damn you Alex, you got me back onto one of my eBay kicks, I now just won a Sunoco and Rain-X Camaro model kit, so now I got a complete set lol. and IDK if I wanna build them or not, cause they're not gaining value, but...but...they're still in their original packaging...

I haven't had a chance to start my model yet, but I'm going to build this rain-x one as if it were my own car. And I'm going to save the Hot Wheels one I'm getting from Steve.

I'll probably start cleaning the body tomorrow.

did you clean the body off with mild soap and water before oyu began to spray i? i used to get blotches in my paint jobs until I found out that theres oils on the plastic form it being manufactured. If you wash it off with warm water and some dawn, and rinse it thouroghly, you shouldnt havea problem, if you still do, sand it with 600 grit and just lightly too, and it will come out perfect.

I use Windex and hot water. I soak the parts in hot water over night, then take them out and Windex them. Then I dry them with paper towels and let them hang again over night. Also another trick I read was putting your spray paint in warm water over night before you spray. I set up a little spray booth in my basement as well with hooks so I can hang things and rotate the plates.

Haha, If parts are be the same color on a plastic sheer, ill leave them on the hanger on the plastic, and then when I take them off, I just clean up the leftover, and touch it up. I never heard of the warm water trick withthe paint can, and the warm water and windex thing sounds like it works. I also use halogen work lights around whats been painted to keep the humidity down and the temperature up, keeps the paint from hazing. I just got done fitting the wheels. The rears are 11" jsut like what I have on my car from a set, and they tick out like 1/32 from the fenders, but otherthen that, everything fits underthere perfect.

heres a couple photos of it. The front and rear bumper are not glued on, they are just placed on there, nothing has been glued nor painted yet except for the rotors.

Dam you, now I have to go buy a Pace Car LT1 car and do it up. You can order individual parts from Revelle/Monogram so I'm going to try and get a pair of Z06 wheels  I've already got replacement parts for another 69' I'm building and I had them throw in an SS spoiler with it. I have a red Z06 I built that I gave black Z06 wheels but i don't want to take models apart or buy a new one just to use a few parts off of. I'll just have to try and get my hood on there somehow too.

I made an LS1 SS similar to my car with black 5-spokes and a polished lip.
