so two job offers just came up recently. i can deliver pizza and do minor kitchen work at the local pizza place (exactly .75 miles from my house) for 7 an hour plus tips mon-friday, rougly 12-6 maybe 2-9, it varies i believe.

OR i can work at the bank mon-friday 1-5pm and SATURDAY (possibly) 8-1. i would tell them i have another job on saturdays so hopefully i wouldnt have to work, but even if i did i can have my saturday nights back, but i would have to be in bed by ~11 on friday nights. its about 20 mins from my house but its right by school, and since i have 5:40 classes this semester...it would kind of work out. i really cant see myself working in a bank but maybe im better off. what do you guys think!!?:?::!:

edit: idk how much i would be making at the bank...i assume 8 or 9 an hour.

I'd say bank. Thats at least something you can put on your resume where as Pizza delivery isn't as attractive on a resume.

Work the profesional environment and put it on a resume. Whatever you have going on on your Saturdays, decide if its more important than making money and getting work experience.

Edit: College degrees are now a commodity. YOu and a few million others like you all have degrees when you step out into the work force. Its your experiences and the contacts (people) you meet that differentiate you from everyone else.

I'd say the bank def. its a more pro. enviroment like the others said and looks much better on your resume... plus by the time you take into account gas and wear and tear on your car your really not making much off tips delivering pizza

Still, working the pizza delivery thing greatly increases your chances of getting into an accident, and even if it is a $900 beater, it will start nickel and diming you to death if you beat it too hard (Which is what happens delivering grub).

The bank's a professional workplace, you can learn things about money (The world of commerce and checkbook balancing isn't as easy as it looks from the outside) and you won't have to worry about dropping off some lazy bum's dinner in a snowstorm for seven bucks an hour...only to get a crappy tip because in addition to be lazy, he's a bigger cheapskate than me!

If you do decide to work at the bank, please refrain from doing one thing I see all young bank tellers do:

Do NOT wear sneakers with slacks and a button down shirt. Do yourself a favor and go buy dress shoes.

i know it'll make him look more professional and all, but do you really mind what shoes your bank teller wears? i know most of the time you can't even see them.

I worked pizza delivery before, You will make more money delivering pizza! tips are 75-150 a night plus 7 dollars an hour. bank tellers make 11 an hour and its freaking boring!
If its for long term, maybe banking is the way to go. but if it isnt then pizza delivery, its so much fun!

Pizza chains are the WORST place to work for.... Id work in a mom and pops pizza place that is busy! Make more in tips.... you better know the area good though...

this is good advice, and there is truth in what he said. college degrees are commonplace nowadays, and you need something extra. contacts you would make at a bank would be invaluable. actually, i am surprised you thought you were in a quandry with this. for me it would be a no brainer.
