I'm just wondering what you guys think i could sell my car for. I will be selling it as soon as i get enough money to upgrade to a ls1 car. My car has...K&n Cold air intake, Lower control arms, Silver painted zr1 rims, brand new rear tires and 60% worn front tires, body is is awesome shape except for faded rear and front bumpers, 114,000 miles, 3.73 Motive Gears, Interior is in showroom condition and engine bay is in above average condition. it's a t-top car and is burgundy. like my avatar.ran a 13.5 at the track and it's an A4. I will try to upload some pics later. Just wondering what i should ask for it.

Do the gears still make noise?

Mike
11-06-2007, 09:51 PM
well theres a difference in value and hopes/dreams, if you think its worth more put a sign in the window and see how long it lasts.

word of advise, dont talk about track times, burnouts, or beating the piss out of it, and take down the pic of the burnout

Camvill
11-06-2007, 09:54 PM
yeh well i know all that but i wont be selling it for 3-6 months and the gears make noise but i havent had any problems they havent gotton louder.its a 1994

I'd say 2500-4500. On the low side if somebody realizes the gear issue.

Camvill

Well im gonna put a sign in the window for like 5500 just for now becuase i dont really wanna sell it yet but if someone wants to buy it for that no problem.

Thats an insanely cheap price so thats not a good comparison. Camvil, what are you lookin to spend? I just dont see the point to go to another high miled car whether it be a Ls1 or not. People say you can find a LS1 for 8-10k...thats BS (if they do the car probably has close to 150k miles or more or your lucky and found a good pvt owner).. 12-14k(maybe less) should get you a LS1 w/ good mileage. I personally wouldnt buy one of these cars w/ more then 50k miles...but thats just me. For what you would save why not hit of JS Performance and get a budget 383 going.

josh's (86formula) 96' camaro was under 4k, i think it was 3,750.00 to be precise, and is in really good shape

Camvill

i want a low mile Ls1 im saving for it and it has to be a 6 speed. So yeh i guess ill have to get somewhere around 9-10 grand because thats what most the used car sites say for a 98-99 camaro z28 with 50,000 miles

Mike
11-08-2007, 01:24 PM
mine was 5600 with 53,000 miles :)

I paid 6,000 for my car three years ago with 78,000 miles from the second owner bone stock and female driven most of its life, never raced. And the prices just seem to be going further and further down since ls1's are getting cheaper. I hate to say it but your car would probably go for 4,000-4,500 if your lucky. I'd say if you can afford to keep it then keep it. These car are great reliable fun cars if you take care of them.

To be fair; here is what you have:

*Looking at it* ~$3K - $3.5K
#1 1994 (13 yr old) LT1 Camaro A4
#2 114,xxx miles
#4 Opti-spark (known for failure)

*Test Drive* ~ $2.75K - $3K
#1 gear whining (raises other question of related problems)
#1.5 Possible other worn parts????

*What we know about the car* ~$2K - $2.5K
#1 Burn out pic (= worn brake parts if you don't have a line lock)
#1.5 Burn out pic (possible engine/Trans wear)
#2 1/4 mile time (again, how much was the car beaten, your "word" means nothing)

You have a 13 y/o LT1 camaro w/ 114,xxx miles on it with drive train noise

Keep it as a project car and put a T-56 in it. The car has A LOT of poteintal (LT1 = iron block...LT4 Conversion 425HP) and you have no piston slap issue like us LS1 guys. Or; find someone who wants to build a track car outa it. Sorry to say man, but you're not gonna get much for it.

JerzLT1

take j0ns offer. as Ron said i got mine for 3750 with 94k on it in GREAT shape. no noises or vibrations or anything.

hehe...i can't even imagine what kinda mayhem the two of us would do to the LT1 community if we started going head-to-head in the same car

You should be able to get $3500-4500 for it depending on overall condition. And for another comparison, I sold my 96 SS A4 hardtop in July of 06 for $7500 with longtubes, 17x9 and 17x11 white painted ZR1's and 86K miles. If I were you, I would enjoy your car for another year or 2 before worrying about getting an LS1. Both engines have their good and bad points. But if you stretch yourself to your spending limit just to buy the car, you won't be able to do any mods.

1. Opti spark was replaced 5,000 miles ago
2.114,000 mostly highway owner before me was a lady and lived in the middle of nowhere.
3. 1994 a4 yeh but tranny was serviced 10,000 ago and car is in prestine condidtion minus the front and rear bumpers interior is showroom condition.
4.70% of major parts were replaced before i purchased the vehicle.(dont feel like listing all them)
5.gear noise yes but mechanic checked it and it lines up perfect and says its normal for aftermarket gears. about 5,000 miles on them now.
6.burn out pic- that isn't even me lol i have silver zr1's on my car and non tinted windows.
7.Went down the quarter mile about 6 times total. lt1's can handle that abuse :-)

Yup....and his 60,000 mile LS1 car still only has a high bid of just over $4,000 after being on ebay for 5 days.

So what do you think people are going to want to spend on your LT1 car with almost double the miles?
