Nope, my '01 Cherokee is the DD/family hauler. Just have to take off the 18's and bolt on the winter rims (15's with 30x9.50 Pirelli Scorpions) and I'm good to go!

Yes, I can't drive the SS396 as a daily driver so the 2000 SS does the job. I just need to remember to cover the hood scoop if I leave it outside in the snow. It was completely blocked off this past winter when we had that sleet storm.

BlackBADaSS02
11-12-2007, 11:47 AM

11-12-2007, 01:35 PM
I'll keep using the '79 up until they start salting the roads around here. Then I'll be using old reliable, a '91 montero, full time till spring

LS1LT1
11-13-2007, 08:36 AM
Yes and no here as well...I will be driving my Z28 (I have four snow tires/wheels for it) throughout the winter but will still be driving the Corvette on the dry/salt free days as well so they're really both daily drivers.
The reasons I have no real designated beater are I can't justify the extra cost/insurance, don't have the space and basically I want to always be driving something relatively fun/fast :helmet: because life is too short LOL. :drive:

Iroc-z86
11-13-2007, 09:03 AM

11-15-2007, 10:06 AM
The 1st year I had my bird and getting stuck in ice and snow I bought a set of 15 inch rims and put all season tires with studs. I couldnt get the car stuck its just a lot of wear on the suspension but it works for those who have one car. All I paid was 100 bucks for the whole thing in a used tire lot. So just go to a junkyard or used tire seller and get it done cheap. I will be using my car if its not snowing. I love my ride lol

Mike

Dunno..... if I remain living in Wayne then I should be fine in the trans am

If I move.....it will be north into snowy country so might need a new beater.

Also - work might give me a beater benz when things get really bad

The long range winter forecast is for a warmer than normal winter with no sign of a deep cold snap like we had last year. Perfect for driving your F-body all year round!

Unless your car is a 1-model-year European exotic or a super-rare muscle car (i.e. Buick GNX, Camaro ZL1, etc), you have a bad investment. See your car as a tool or a perishable item and nothing else. With that said, I'm driving both my cars to the ground. The 2002 Z28 and the 2006 GTO that I bought both brand-new back in the day will stay on the road all year round. I respect anybody that does the same.
