so yesterday im out at dinner with my gf and half of her family and my step dad calls me. so i txt him and tell him ill call him when im done eating. so he texts me back and tells me that i got into a college. at first im like no way, hes pulling my leg. then i call him and he says hes on the way to my moms job to show her. so i eventually get home and read the letter/folder. ive been accepted to SUNY Maritime college in the bronx. ive been looking at this school since i was a freshman and i got in.

im still in shock. now lets see if i get accepted to njit, rutgers, or the coast guard academy

I don't know you but congrats. Always a nice feeling to get accepted into a college.

I would have to recommend Rutgers Univ. in New Brunswick, NJ if you are looking to get into Mech. Engineering. It's a tough but respected program and a lot of my friends are doing well after getting out. Job search is always tough but if your good, you won't have a problem. I graduated from there in 2005 with BS in ME and I did not have too much trouble finding a job.

Good luck with the other schools and getting into the one you want. It's all about the right fit.

if you got into NJIT and you are interested in mechanical engineering, see if there is still time to apply to ohio state. they have the best all around program in the country.

it is also nice that they have one of the best formula SAE teams in the country too :)

Nothing is set until you pay the tuition bill  think about it, do your research.. I will definitely be another advocate for rutgers. The school is very good, and from what i've heard the ME degree is very difficult, which will also make you a better ME. good luck with whatever you do! And don't forget, just because you don't hear back from a school doesn't mean you didn't get in. I believe all schools will send you a letter accepting or declining your application, so if you haven't heard, dont give up hope

well we already gave maritime a deposit and stuff and its a harder school to get into...its also got 100% job placement =D
