And of you, how many of you actualy attempted to install a cam yourself with the motor still in the car? Im getting peer pressured by my brother but last night when i opend up the hood and looked at it.... it's not looking very fun, is it that bad?

I think the general rule with any mod / resto is - if you feel squeamish about doing it, pay for it to be done instead. You'll spend less having it done right the first time, than spending more to replace the dented radiator, cracked fan shroud from dropping it....

i did it. it took me a while but thats because i was doing a ton of other mods as well. the only thing i screwed up on was the waterpump gasket slipped when i was reinstalling it. everything else was smooth as ice. i got lots of tools to use too. when do you plan on doing it? i'm gonna be pretty damn free over the winter to lend a hand

edit: your more than welcome to take my car for a joy ride and see how you like it.

i'll see what i can do, finals are coming up so my schedule is damn tight. i'm definitely more than happy to answer any questions you might have meanwhile. its certainly not as difficult as you may think

when i had the lower air box/radiator/water pump/ etc. off to do the cooling system i noticed there is a LOT more room in the front than it looks like there is with everything in there....

im sure its still not roomy but its not as bad as it looks.

I helped foff667 do a heads/cam swap on his old '98 Z28.....I didn't think it was anything too difficult.

I did my first cam swap with the block still in and that was in an LT1 car. There is A LOT of room when you pull your radiator & front accessories off.
