That Camaro & Camera are close in spelling and both require lots of money to gain good performance outputs.
I just spent $400 on a new lens... there goes my new seat brackets & fuel rail covers.

what made you choose that lens?

I see it as the perfect all around lens for me and theirs two main reasons why..
- I'm a photographers assistant doing sports photography. We do a lot of indoor shooting for sports which require a FAST lens for low light. I need a wide angle lens that offers a large aperture thats good for awards and candid shots. I shoot @ F2.8/3200/100-150 in open metering.
- Its a great all around lens offering macro capability & reasonable zoom. I can use the macro for up close pictures like interior shots for cars and up close pictures. Even with the Kit Lens (18-55) it leaves a lot to desire in ways of zoom. 70mm works out to actually 120mm in an XT/XTi so thats more then enough for what I would use it for. I could use it at the track from the stands or even down at the lights. Also the low light capabilities of this camera are perfect for when I like to shoot at sunset.
I also use a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L which is over-kill for the car stuff and I haven't had the opportunity to use it outside of sporting events.

I bet the pictures are not as nice though.
You get what you pay for. In the end I am sure your camera suits you fine and you are happy with it.
I bought my camera like 6 years ago and it was "decent" at $999, now I wish I had something like Alex' so I could upgrade parts of it and do a little more. Its amazing how inexpensive cameras have become in the past 1-2 years, lens' on the other hand I don't see changing all that much.
