Well the GF and I treated ourselves to a new apt/xmas gift the other day and picked up a XBox 360 @ BestBuy...only because I got approved for about 5 grand on their credit card  . Needless to say the first few days Ive been addicted  to Forza 2 that came w/ it...Anyway we decided get out w/ the old and into the new and trade in our ps2 & gamecube w/ all the games, etc. To my surprise we got a hair under 200 bucks. I was in shock i was expecting around 100. The guy said gamecube games hold their value pretty well especially the mario titles. Anyway we got about 6-7 360 games and another wireless controller(50.00 eek!) and still have about 30 bucks left. So im pretty set now all I need is a HDTV  . Just giving you guys a heads up if you have some games or systems you dont play they give you some good bank for them.

Crap! That sux, if the ever happens again, ask them if you can keep the hard drive and just get a new system. Mine broke once and they let me do it :)

Hmm... im all new to this xbox thing, never even played the 1st one, just refuse to pay the ps3 price tag. I got a 2 yr. warranty on it because from what I hear the systems have been freezing and Microsoft supposedly does nothing if it happens...Im having a hard time collecting money w/ the limited play time...especially w/ no cheat codes  . I won most of my money w/ a turbo talon(one of the 1st cars they offer you) and that early 90's late 80's tuner supra they give ya when you win. From what Ive heard and seen so far the graffics are day and night differance on a HDTV from a standard. On my standard set I cant really tell a ton of a differance w/ ps2's gran turismo...So the plan is to pay this off then get something high def.

It is night and day, I had been playing Forza 2 on my regular TV and the other night it finally decided it didnt like life anymore, and blew. I took the 360 downstairs and put it on my dad's HDTV and holy crap! Absolutely amazing! I played the 360 on there when i first got it, but never had played Forza on it.

Yea I was debating bringing the system to my mothers house tonight. She just got a new Sharp HDTV. Ill definately have one by income tax time, hopefully sooner. My GF likes the Vizeo HDTV they have at Walmart. Think the 32' goes for 5 and change, I could probably swing that one way or another.

Mine broke a few months ago and I got on the phone with Microsoft and they sent me a new one. They're pretty good if you can get a person on the phone. There was a big thing on the news around August where Microsoft basically recalled all the 360s and will allow each person one free return if the unit breaks. I think they said it'll cost Microsoft 1.2 BILLION dollars.
The money gets a little easier as you go along. Once you get a faster car, you can tune it and keep running some of the races over and over to beat your time and collect money in the process. One car I got early on that I used for a while was the '69 Camaro Z-28. You can do a lot with that car. That and the 1970 GTO. The Mustang Cobra R is another good one. Another cool thing is if you get XBOX Live, you can download a buttload of new cars. The first download that came out was all the Nissan SPEC-V cars. Now you can get a ton more, including the new Challenger
The graphics on HD is amazing. I have my 360 connected to my 24" HD computer monitor and it looks great.

Those Vizio's are real nice TVs....Sams Club has been selling them for a few years, and they just recently started carrying them at many of the other big retailers.

Gamestop really sux bro lol. They have some of the lowest trade in values around on things but soe of the other game stores that offer more aren't in our area. Also like stated you are really missing out by not having a HDTV. (A MUST!) If you have a 5k limit on your card I suggest going getting a HD TV right now! Back 2 years ago before Everyone started to get a HDTV I was playing my PS2 on a HDTV lol. I wouldn't play any videogame system on a regular TV and never without HDMI or High Def cables. Also by not having X-Box. Sure you may say you aren't really into it at all but there is alot more to X-Box live than playing other people over the net. You can download movies,Download CLASSIC games liek Contra,Double Dragon,Street Fighter 2 etc. Not to mention download and play previews of games before they are even released! I have a X-360, and Wii and Every video game system made before this minus Turbo Graphics and Neo Geo. I'm just waiting to get a PS3 when the new Socom comes out.
BTW: If you get the circle of death(X-360 crashes) Microsoft does repair and pay for shipping without a question. THis happened to my system a few months back.

Im about to get xbox 360, whats the the deal with the arcade pack? What is it missing that "I can ad later"
SteveR

not sure about the arcade, but make sure it has the system, controller, and a hard drive. You can buy a headset and games and such later.

As steve said, don't get the core system.
The Arcade system is a Core system I believe (doesn't come with a hard drive).
Your best bet is to pick one up with a 20GB hard drive and HDMI support (older models don't have the HDMI support, so make sure the one you buy comes with it).

I got the one w/ the 20gb hard drive I believe...it also came w/ a headset, forza 2, and that spiderman game. Like said previously Im not a major gamer so the sdtv will have to do until I can afford the hdtv. Just too much going on right now to throw myself a grand in debt. Ive always been very cautious on how i use my CC regardless of what they approved me for. Its a flat screen that my GF bought about a year ago so its not like im playing on a 13in. black and white. I also heard that I should wait to get both or nothing at all but i was just getting real tired of the same ps2/gamecube games.
