It makes me sad that the Trans Am series races ended, and it also makes me sad that we will never see the classics and muscle era of the 60s and 70s again. But, knowing cars like this are still around does make me happy. :)

Trans am isnt that dead, if oyu wanted to oyu could make your own series, it would just cost alot to make anymore. You buy a whole bunch of cars that raced in the trans am series, get your friends to get on and build it, keep it to the trans am specs, adn go race somewhere. Id defiantly would love to do that, actually beat and bash jsut like in the old days.

It would have to be a 440-8 T/A :-) no 340-6s here.

I <3 classic racing!

I'd like to emulate the same thing with my modern car though!

Bob, check out the Speed channel. They ran a Trans AM special on American Muscle car yesterday and it will probably be replayed today.

i miss trans am racing in the classic sense. i always thought it was cool when big dollar racing series were very closely related to the street version. the later trans am cars were tube framed monsters with little more than a silhouette to the production version

Its crazy to think that those are built in Toms River, but they are....waiting for them to stop racing them and sell the chassis, then bring back the Trans Am series with a bunch of old Trans Am IROC chassis!!!! what do you all think?

Sounds like a plan to me, but I couldn't imagine how much they would cost to own & operate! I can't even get the new brakes I want for my own car!
