Trying to get a feel for the number of members that have actualy auto-x their f-bodys or that are going to try it this upcoming season. If we could get 10-20 car count at a porsche club or msne maybe they could give us our own class. Just feeling this out to see if there is any intrest.

I am planning on Auto-X'ing my Z28 this season. I just need to roll the fenders in the rear and I am good to go.

I would do it too. I have autocrossed my bird and it did very well. Only thing now since I will have some engine mods done it might disqualify me from a stock class I think.

www.SCCA.org and www.AutoX4U.com are the two sites to visit. the scca has no particular "licensing" to compete in regional events, only require you to be a paid member to participate in national tour events and the national championships.
AutoX4U is a site run by a guy that i used to run with in philly region. super cool dude and waaaaayyyyyy the hell better of a driver than i ever was. he keeps the regionals schedules up to date for north and south jersey as well as philly region.
i will be happy to try to pilot your car around a course in a competitive way. i am very very rusty though. other than screwing around on the occasional twisty road, i haven't followed a real racing line in 5+ years. there was a time that i was good, but it was a while ago so it will take a few runs to get the feel again and get myself up to the speed of the car.

I know at a scca event we wont be able to get our own class. we would be in stock, e-street prepared, street modified, or c- prepared. If we could get a f-body class at a msne or porsche club then we could maybe have 2 classes stock, modified or race rubber or steet tire. Maybe one of the sponsers on the site would be interested in providing some trophys or some other form of swag  if we could get a good car count

there are a few influential fans of the f-body around the industry. sam strano won his first 2 or 3 national championships in an IROC :D
if you coudl get in touch with the porsche club and find out how many entrants if would take for the f-body crowd to get our own class, i will be happy to work on the promotional and sponsorship side of the fun.

try talking to 2mchpwr, hes with the in crowd of MSNE, who do the giants stadium runs. unless some people have a power adder, or swapped motor (what they wont know......), we should all be in class C. depending on how many people are in a given event, they might make a special side class for the club. but the first 4-5 runs are always sold out. during the summer, it gets a little better, but on any friday run, there might be all of 30 cars there. i think we could definetly get our own sub-class then. if you dont hear from 2much, i can email the club owners.

we have our committee meeting on Feb 10 and i can bring it up to the board.
there shouldn't be an issue letting all members of this site run together in the same session. There will be a non-points event coming up soon (march maybe?) and that would be a good place for this too.
if you don't know what i'm talking about... autocross at giants stadium with www.motorsportsne.com
$40 for non-members. you get approx 8-10 runs for the day.
If you buy a membership for $30, the events only cost $30 each and you get a year subscription to Grassroots motorsports magazine OR a t-shirt.
Membership also gets you a discount ($20 approx) at every open tracking event held by PDA: http://www.pdadrivingschool.com/
