I agree cjd it's just another excuse for people to go out get drunk and act like classless schmucks. Then think it's cool to drive home and hopefully not get caught or kill someone.

I have never really gone anywhere on New year's except to maybe a friends house to watch tv. and eat food.

I so wish I could be a cool drunk person on New Year's Eve.

Yeah we don't "party", we just sit around with good friends, have a few drinks, watch tv/movies, and if it's nice enough, BBQ. Nothing special, just a good time with friends.

Yeah. We rarely went to bars on NYE. It was always amateur hour, which gets old fast, plus the whole DUI thing. Last year we went to the Starland to see Velvet Revolver. That sucked. Not VR, but the whole night. VR didn’t go on until after 12, only played about an hour due to curfew. Starland wanted to bilk the crowd out of drinking money, which they did.

We're going to my in-laws tonite until 8ish, then heading home before all the drunken idiots hit the streets. The most I'll drink over there is a few glasses of home-made vino. I usually stay up to watch the ball drop and call a few people to wish them Happy New Year, but my wife never makes it. She falls asleep on the couch!

i have work at 8am tomarrow

My wife was lucky enough to be off on Xmas Day, but she has to be in at 7am tomorrow.

ill drink tonight, but i won't do any of what you're saying.. If I'm drinking I make sure I have a place to stay. No sense in risking someone elses life just because I wanted to get home.

just as the serious pranksters go dormant on April 1, the serious drinkers let the rookies take center stage on Jan. 1

Working until one am. When I'm not working, I don't go out. I've got a fireplace, a bottle of Jack Daniels and a wife. Getting too old to party like I'm 21 anymore. :grampsch:

Im just going over to a buddies apt for some drinks and apitizers. Thats about it this year. Usually there is an all out party somewhere. Now with everyone getting married, kids and whatnot. It is getting harder to get together. :(

Next year I am going to Times Square like I've been wanting to for a few years now.

Picked up a bottle of Malibu banana rum for a quick after work spritz, then headed out to Jose Tejas with the family for some Mex food and a couple Coronas. Now I'm safe at home for some more rum n' Cokes, I'll send out some e mail and phone well wishes, pop the cork at Midnight for a toast, then off for some zzzzzzzs. 8-)

No, I haven't done any real partying on NYE for over 10 years. Too many amateurs out just like the night before Thanksgiving. I stayed home and had a couple of Jack n cokes.

Yeah, was a pretty fun evening, had a few drinks, played guitar hero till about 330 but set off some fireworks my buddy had just laying around at 12. I missed an argument between my dad and my sisters boyfriend though. I was kinda pissed when I heard this, because Ive been looking for a reason to kick his ass out, what a tool! They are both 18, my sister drives him around all the time, the kid has no goals in life, he is disrespetful, and he lost his keys to his house so he wanted my sister to drive him home at 2am when his parents would be getting home, my dad finally had enough. I always miss the good stuff!

Getting drunk on New Year's is as played out as Christmas music. It's a cliche brought on by peer pressure and represents people's lack of individuality. I had two cups of red wine. It's healthy and I stayed sober. But, yeah, I did go to a party just to eat and see a couple of friends that I usually don't see for an entire year. Nothing wrong with that.

Kare and I were at EVIL90SS's and squirrel's house from about 10:00 to 2:30ish. Lots of drinking, fireworks, and plenty of good times with friends, as always.
