i don't know what they are talking about but you can see the toyo frame start to bend with only a 275lb load on the corner. my quad weighs over 600lbs

there are a series of those videos actually. yes, the toyota has the worst full size frame on the market. you won't notice it with weight evenly distributed in the bed though.
the weakness will show it';s ugly head when the frames fail after several years of use and for anyone who goes off road regularly.
typical highway use will not show any of the weaknesses of any of the full size frames on the market.

i can't imagine that chassis being too kind from years of abuse. especially when you have weight in the bed, a trailer in tow, and trying to get into a trail. or plowing and driving around during the winter with a plow on the front and salt spreader in the back, or especially a lift kit and some tires

hate to say it but i have professors like that and they've been teachers for years :shock:
i once counted how many times my teacher said um in a 30 min period and it averaged something like once every 45 seconds, and she didn't even talk the whole time

The Toyotas were thrown in just for laughs at how crappy they are, and Nissan was left out because they're even worse than Toyota. I have a whole stack of the DVDs if anyone is interested.

it is a well thought out series of tests, the engineers even give the other brands some small credit where it is due a few times. even going as fas to compliment GM for having the oldest frame design of the lot and still being the second best in all the tests.

i watched one vid in the related links of the tundra pulling against the Ram. they just smoked the rams tires and let the tundra pull it, you could tell it was totaly fixed. of course if u break the tires loose its guna have no traction and get pulled the other way

having driven several different full size trucks(bored at lunch and work next to reedmans) i must say that teh used 2 or 3 year old toyota i test drove one day rides amazing for a full size. it also had one of the nicer interiors(i forget what it was, salesman said it was the top interior trim) i have ever seen in a truck.

i just see fewer and fewer trucks being bought because trucks are cool to own. with gas over $3 a gallon people jsut can't afford to commute in them anymore.

iv driven most pick ups out there because of all the training i had w/ being a salesman and all and from the ones i tested i liked in this order (most to least)
1-Ford F-150 (no one can top ford w/ trucks!!)
2-Nissan titan (nice truck to ride around in, but not a work truck)
3-Silverado (as usual gm puts together solid motor but cant do same w/ interior and misc. stuff)
4-Dodge Ram (egh.. name says it all Dodge it!!)
in not ranking tundra on this list all u guys know its a pos

You said it all right there....it's a truck, therefor it should be plenty capable of hard labor. If you wanted something nice to ride around in, you should stick with a car or some sort of crossover if you have a need to sit up high or something.

its very well done. They compare every single nut and bolt on each truck and demonstrate the differences, literally. They even compare rear spring mount bolts. They give credit where its due, like they say that GMs cooling system is the best on the market. They knock the Toyotas because they have these rediculous commercials that try and make them look like super trucks with the stupid swinging beam and the brake test on the edge of the cliff, yet they have the lowest specs for any work truck (payload capacity, towing, torque, frame strength, suspension, etc.). The Nissans were left out because their numbers are even worse than Toyota.

I think the sad part is that marketing does in fact sell trucks. I remember when the Tundra came out and they had a commercial in slo-mo showing the Tundra going over bumps you could see how much the frame was flexing the the commercial, sad that you could see it in the TOYOTA commercial yet people still buy them. I do not like Ford but I think they have a good truck.

Toyota has never made a decent frame. My grandfathers toyota pickup truck, from I think 1980, snapped in half, and I think that happened around the early 90's, like 91 or 92, so it wasent even 15 years ol and it snapped. he still has it sitting in his yard to this day, and let me say that he didnt do any snow removal, 4 wheeling, carry loads in it, he just drove it cause the engines were great and the gas mileage was awsome. Im not a bit suprised it epically failed compared t the Ford in that test. My ranger is 14 years old, and still runnning strong. Ford tough trucks, cant beat it.

there is more to a pickup truck than its frame pete. granted the toyota's is probably worse, i'm sure the toyota excels in comparison in most other categories. its like the special olympics between those two trucks
