from the factory all f-bodies have some form of speed limiter. the only cars that did not have any speed limiter were the B4C optioned police cars.

The stock chip in my Camaro had a 108 mph cut off. Get a performance chip like a hypertech one or get a custom one made.

drive fast enough that the cops impound the car, then it is never a problem ever again

speed limit is 65.......why do you need to go faster than 108 in a 21 year old car?

same reason you got 112 in a 9 year old car...
well maybe not the same reason, but it could be.

since his title is 15second club, i doubt he needs to worry about trapping more than 108

Actually for thirdgen, it depended on what tires came with the car. If you got the 245/50/16 tires, then it didnt have a speed limter. (it does, but it is set at 255mph)

How does the speed limiter work on those cars? Does it just limit fuel and/or spark at a predeterminied MPH?

Yes - just pulls spark....the throttle is just on a cable - nothing there that could "kick" it back out to you.

As I suspected. My CFI didn't have a limiter I ever hit, LOL.

There is nothing from the factory that will make the gas pedal kick back out.

Im not sure how its on a maf tpi car but on Speed density tpi cars it cuts fuel off then resumes fuel once it gets back down to a certain speed.

Could be....I was thinking they all pulled spark for some reason.
Either way, it wouldn't affect pedal feel.

Well then they all must have had some sort of aftermarket limiter installed on them, because none of them would do that from the factory.

Not a grammar expert either. 1996 was the first year Traction Control was installed on F-bodies which will "push" the pedal back at you to say.
never heard of anything aftermarket installed doing that. Maybe your confused on what you felt.

that or just take a glance to re read what you typed. Not saying this stuff to be jerks really. More people tend to respond better with a post that they can read. Something that was written up with a total disregard to the English language will cause many to ignore the question that they can't read.
With that being said, if you REALLY want to get rid of the limiter that you shouldn't hit in the first place, wait till you have more modifications done to justify a new PROM to be made and have the limiter removed then....

Because it requires a laptop computer with hardware and software designed for burning PROMS.

I (and can probably speak for others) wonder why it is such a priority. This may fall on deaf ears, but removing the speed limiter is the last thing that I would be worried about. You don't even have said car in your possesion yet. Make sure the basic things are good first.

maybe the trolls under the gas pedal push it back?
maybe kasey is down on his floorboard.......someone just take his limiter off and see if hes smart enough to go over the 21 year old car before he tries going that fast

Man you guys are harsh. Funny, but harsh.
Kid Racer, as everyone has mentioned, you might best remove the factory settings by purchasing a new chip or having the software / hardware to tune the car with the current chip. Either path is best served by first putting on any modifications you want before having the chip programmed / replaced. Otherwise you go through the motions / money of making the changes, only to have them changed again when adding on mods.
The questions about your need for a top end beyond 100+ MPH is still valid. Is this a track car? You have no business going that speed on any public road, so it's best to keep the stock settings until you decide to add modifications AND race on a track. There is no quick and easy fix to what you are requesting so first decide what you plan to use the car for.
Good luck!
