Its 2am and im curious about this!

to be more precise, a 1989 camaro RS T top car that i used to have, with the 305 tbi V8 (not tpi) and 700 R4 trans with a 9bolt disc brake rear (put in myself), stock suspension.

what was removed u ask?? all seats except a racing seat in the front (weighs 15lbs maybe?) all carpet and sound deadening, lower part of dash, basically no interior except the main part of the dash , glovebox and radio, no spare tire/jack/. It didnt come with airbags or ABS from factory

other stuff- fiberglass hood (-44lbs) no front swaybar or brackets, no powersteering, replaced with manual steering box, No AC at all (totally gone) AC bracket cut down a bit as well.

bumper supports, front and rear were still in. (thought it was too much work for that at the time lol)

stock manifolds, stock Y, and a catback; minus the cat

ill search this, but i wanna see what yall say. i heard 3rd gens were 3200-3400lbs stock. i weighed everything i took out, it was 450-500lbs (this is going back a while) never weighed the car, but i know i knocked off .5 second by doing this. i used my gtech, (which was accurate within a tenth of a second, i tested it at the track with the 98 and the street as well) 14.5 @ 90 something mph for the 89'. i had ET streets on the maro' and the lateral G's on the initial launch was .90 something ! lol it would not spin a tire

probably 3200 with driver.

With that much stripped out of it, I am sure it was lighter.

Tim's '91 RS with T-tops, power windows and locks, working AC, and 17" ZR1 replica wheels weighed ~3250 with him in it. I'm sure he'll chime in with more exact details....

yeah but that was tims car.. I am sure it had some creative weight reduction in there.

lucky!

I had all the stupid crap like power windows, a radio, and ac..... But it doesn't have a tach from the factory..

But I guess in the end its going to work out well that i have power windows since I might need a cage someday. I sure hope so..

I think, he thinks a cage would get in the way of a window handle???

anyway, I'm really interested in what weight i can get my car down to, I'm taking some aluminum to the scrap yard tomorrow so i'll get a weight slip

niice, im thinking my old 3rd gen without a cage and no 9" rear and only a 305 would weigh around 2800ish possibly
