no b/c cats i think u gotta pass for year 2000 standards but im not sure if you got the cats on any shop would pass u but state will make sure you pass for 2000 standards or you can do what i do take off old sticker and clean and if u get pulled over say its new windshield... that worked w/ me so far and iv been driving 6 mo. w/o inspection sticker

youd be better off going to a station, and paying the extra money to get it done. going through the DMV, i think if you move the cats at all, regardless of having them or not, is 'illegal'. at least if you go to a guy, he can fudge the rules, since you still have cats, its legal, passes smog, etc.

its worth the cash to go private and forget about it... many users have even been failed for noise on this forum with ONLY a catback.

on the HIDs...depends if the guy pays attention and knows that these cars did not come with HIDs.
I only passed with no cats because I went private and the guy just plugged in to the computer. Passed with flying colors lol. I recently got the collector sticker so I don't have to worry about anything really anymore except for the popo
my denali failed for HIDs, but they were bright and kinda purple, lol
if you have a catted y pipe, i wouldnt worry, they look quick and arent to skilled to know proper location of the cat on every make and model. they dont even use a sniffer test on OBDII cars, so emissions standards for whatever year and such doesnt even come into play. As long as you computer tells the motor vehicle computer all is working fine, then you're good to go.
in my case, i passed at a NJ STATE inspection station, with no cats and without them even hooking my car to their computers, and its a 100% legal way.

If I go to a private shop and pay it's still a real sticker right?

Me also.I have taken 2 of my previous LS1 cars with LT headers and catted Y-pipe and passed both times at the inspection station in Mays Landing NJ.

I see..maybe I will be taking out my HID's and putting on stockers with the whistler mod then.

I went thru in my v6 with stock manis, high flow cat and magnaflow catback and failed for being too loud. 3 (or was it 4?) times.
