funny thing is that they are calling for a snow advisory in the next town over from me(monmouth county), but 200 feet this way (burlington county) they say its going to be all rain....they have no idea whats going on.

Not looking forward to it either, since the district I teach in hardly ever closes for snow days. It better be really bad, or nothing at all; anything in between will almost guarantee I'll have to work.

Seems like it's still too warm for us to have much of a snow event, but that's probably when we'll be surprised!

Should be enough snow so the wifey is off work..... but my job never closes.

So.... hopefully I'll drive her car to work.

I didn't know your call center was 24/7 365.....or did you just mean that you never really close for weather?

My only "fear" with snow is that one of the guys won't show up to work to cover the next shift...in which case I would be stuck here at work until someone else shows up.

Well I miss having a real winter. Drving by the Lake seeing people ice fishing snowmobiling, riding quads in the snowy roads and on the lake. We havent had a good winter in like 3 years. They are calling for a Heavy snow warning here in Sussex county. 5-10inches.

Ahh....I always thought it was just "Customer Service". Didn't know it was roadside assistance.

Well, it is the Customer Assistance Center.
We have an area that handles the "escalated calls" such as customer service etc..... then we have basic calls such as roadside related (flat tire, jump start tech questions etc.)

We closed once..... for a couple hours... back on 9/11.

Other than that...... never close.....I expect tomorrow to suck as there will be people calling out and many mercedes people out with sport tires and thinking that those are fine in snow :-x

Yeah me too. It snowed for a little bit around midnight here, but it wasn't sticking to the ground much. I woke up this morning hoping to see at least a coating and it's just wet. 5 to 8 inches my *****.

No snow here either. It was still 39 degrees at 11pm last night so I knew we weren't going to get any snow.

The winds didnt swift to the north fast enough to bring in the cold air. The ocean is 45 degrees so that kept the rain snow line father west than normal. The storm really didnt have full force till it got into CT. But at least theres no need to shovel 1".

It seems like meteorologists are lucky if they can predict that Tuesday is gonna come after Monday :rollseye: The more technology they get, the worse their predictions become. It's understandable that they make mistakes, but they make it worse for themselves when they over-hype predictions so much that turn out to be wrong.

Its stuff like this that just makes me believe meteorology is hokus pokus.

The problem is that these so called meteorologists don't do any actual weather research themselves they let a computer tell them what is going to happen.

Before all this dopplar Bull shtuff they would look at wind speed, wind direction, dew points, temperatures, pressure systems, etc and actually track them with scientific data. Now the computers generate all the information and no one looks it over to examine it to see if it's correct.

If you looked at the maps last night around 6 pm you would see the part of the storm that was suppose to sweep up the coast and mix with the cold winds got pushed out over the ocean really fast because of the jet stream.

I told my wife we weren't getting anything but that people way north of us would and that's pretty much what happened.

thats just crazy, $1,000,000. The less it snows this winter the better - I work outside all night.
