That is a great class they have there. I think that most of the cars are probably running mid to high 8's right now. Those cars are really great, all motor and 10.5 inch tires. I would love to run that class with the new motor I am putting in the car but I don't have the cash to change valve springs every weekend.
What kind of small block are you putting together for that class. Is it a splayed or canted valve small block?

That is definitely a sweet setup there. I bet you can sneak up on some people telling them you have an iron headed 23 degree motor. That motor is somewhat similar to what I just bought this week. I bought a short block setup that used to run in the NSCA Super Modified class 425 cid. On spray the motor went 7.89 at 3040 lbs. Only thing I did not get was the heads and intake off of it. But I have a set of Brodix -10X CNC ported from M2. I figure this setup should get me some low nines running N/A. Especially in a stick car set up for it. Let me know when you are going to the track I would like to check out your ride. By the way who did the chassis and whose torque arm do you have in it?

Me & Barry "my Best Friend" did all the work the torque arm was do by Leo Barnaby At Neverlift Motorsports In NJ. (neverliftracecraft.com) he does great work. Thanks. so how light is your car, what heads you plan on running, my heads flow alot like an 18* head, at 3285lbs. i went 9.23 @ 148 at Island Dragway in NJ. my car now should weigh about 2975lbs. at NMCA's weight for the Pro-Stock Class, the car should go 9.0's or 8.80's in good air and that pushing it. its gone take 850 + at 3000lbs. to go low nines. i been trying for a year or so. JR. good luck with yours.

Leo does some nice work. He is a good guy. When Bammann had his 10.5 car running we used to race against him all the time down at Atco. I am going to use my Brodix -10 heads from M2. They flowed about 340 on the intake. They should be good enough for some low nines. I just figured the stick setup should keep me in the rpm band where I need to be. Never weighed the car yet. No idea I might weigh it this weekend before I take the motor out of it. Depending on how testing goes this spring will determine if I run the index race for Atco during the NMCA race or if I run in Pro Stock and get my ***** handed to me by one of the regulars racing the class. Either way it should be fun this year. I am hoping to get close to 150 mph this year. Good luck this year.
