Listen up EVERYBODY. I just got an email about a Speeding Ticket Frenzy that is going to start today and go on for 30 days. There will be 50 State Troopers on at ALL times. Over one million dollars is being put aside to pay for the overtime. Even 5 mph over the limit will get you nailed. They are expected to write a ticket every 10 MINUTES. The following roads are: I-295 north/south, I-95 Turnpike, I-80 east/west, I-287 north/south, I-78 east/west, I-195 east/west, Rt. 130 north/south and Garden State Parkway north and south. They also have just purchased 30 NEW Crown Victoria Cruisers. This was also heard on 101.5, so it's not BS. You have been warned, keep it tight or your :moon: is theirs!

This exact thing (word for word) circulated last year sometime. I'm calling BS.

They are saying that an EXTRA 50 Troopers will be on the road. That's beside the normal amount of Troopers, and the $1,000,000 in overtime is already set aside. The 10 minute time limit just means that every 10 minutes one of those Troopers will have someone pulled over and be writing a ticket!
the email is BS. lets leave it at that and not start another unfounded debate

This is a hoax, the SAME email went out last year....WORD for WORD.
I guess the world is still filled with gullible people.

Allright, I just thought it was worth posting. I figured that if it was on 101.5 radio, that these guys would have it cleared by someone that this was on the up and up!

i'm guessing he means between the 50. they have a dedicated group called the "TACK PACK" who's sole purpose is to write tickets. i don't think the whole 50 new vic's is true, but they do assign the pack to specific roads to discourage moving violations thru no mercy tickets. they usually have a couple stripes on the fender though (can't find a picture).
rumor has it they did acquire a few mustangs though for excessive speeders...

I've seen a billion cops out around the past 2 days, but I think it's because it's the end of the month.

I don't trust Big Joe Henry any further than I could throw him. (See, it's funny because he's really big and you can't throw him with anything smaller than a medieval catapult...unless you're Chuck Norris!)

Ah! The mobile moneymaker! They go all over the state at the request of the traffic divisions of different police departments. If there is a functioning traffic division, they will request that trailer and set up a checkpoint. They were probably narrowing one or more of the lanes with a cop in the middle of the road directing those vehicles with obvious equipment deficiencies and/or fraudulent or outdated inspection stickers into the lot, where they'd be inspected on the spot. The town benefits because any deficiencies get a ticket and the DMV (Oh, excuse me, MVC) gets stats. It happens everywhere according to availability.

shouldn't they be buying chargers and not crown vics?

Oh yeah, i wouldn't worry about crown vics just only anymore, now SP have a few duangos, i've seen two mustang state police cars down near deptford, there were also two navigators, both are like a grey/bluish in color all unmarked and go MG license plates.
they weren't sitting for speeders, they were cruising in the slow lane on 55 and 295N, waiting for people to go flying by.

if they were troopers they wouldnt have MG (municipal government) plates, they'd have SG (state government) if anything. usually unmarked/detective/chiefs cars have a normal looking plate that will come back to nothing when ran

Dont be fooled by that. Ive seen state police cars with regular plates as well. They were marked cars as well.

This all started last year after His Excellency Fidel Corslime was almost killed in the SUV crash. At the time, there was harsh criticism (completely warranted) of the way the State Police were handing the entire ordeal. In attempted retaliation, a trooper posted anonymously on the State FOP board that they should start a ticket blitz. Someone then leaked it to the media, NJ 101.5 in particular, and all hell broke loose. The ticket blitz never happened, and NJSP union leader Davey Jones ended up being suspended and reprimanded over his threatening conduct toward the media and the troopers that leaked the posts.
So basically this is old news.
