I'm looking to redo my brakes, my rotors are definately shot and I need to do pads.

Can anyone reccommend a good set of rotors and pads? I'm not really looking for a crazy upgrade but something a little better than stock would be nice. No need for cross-drilled or slotted, blanks would probably be fine..

Thanks.

Car is a 96 LT1.

Raybestos brute stop rotors and Hawk HPS pads work fine for me (GTP).

I went with Power Slot Rotors & Hawks HPS Pads with SS brake lines and that was an amazing braking combination for my car. They looked as good as they stopped too.

If you don't want anything fancy stick to some Brembo Blanks with Hawks pads!

Thats exactly what I had. I had the dimpled and zinc coated rotors. It made a huge difference from stock.

are hawk HPS or hawk ceramic pads better for street use?

I am 99% sure the answer is HPS, but the correct answer is whatever operates best in the heat range your rotor sees.
