I just saw this on my homepage and figured id post it up. from just browsing over it, it seems like the street racers weren't even the ones getting hurt or hurting people. this is just a piece of the story, theres alot more in that link.

ACCOKEEK, Md. - Police in Maryland say an eighth person has died after a car roared into a crowd that was watching a drag race on a suburban highway.
Authorities say the driver accidentally drove into the crowd but wasn't part of the race. The spectators had just watched two other cars speed off.
Seven people died at the scene. Police say the latest victim died at a hospital. Six others were injured.
Witnesses said they had just watched two cars in the illegal street race speed past when the driver of a white Crown Victoria without any lights on came up behind them and veered into the crowd.
this really pisses me off. IMO. it sounds like they are pinning the blame on the racers/prople doing burnouts.like, the burnouts created a thick smokescreen and the people in the white crown vic couldnt see. granted, they probably shouldntve been doing burnouts and what not, But- if you can't see thru the smoke, then dont friggin proceed!!! its common freaking sense. and never assume its clear on the other side. wait a few seconds until it clears. this happened at 340 am and traffic was light, if anything. It says the person in the crown vic DIDNT have their lights on, they ASSUMED it was clear on the other side, and obviously couldnt see, and i really dont think it was sunny out at 340 am either... Maybe if the crown vic had its lights on, the spectators couldve seen the car coming toward them and maybe nobody wouldve had to die.
