Hey Everybody, just wanted to see what plans everyone might have for their F-Bodies this summer. I know its February, but the warmth of yesterday and the other recent on and off days, just gets me excited thinking about whats in store for my '83 Z-28 this summer. For me, I plan to finally fix the front of car, and get the whole car painted, can't wait for that. Let's hear what the rest of you guys or girls are planning. . . Later, Jeff.
This summer: Goin to a bunch of shows. Carlisle, and others. Hopefully gettin back to work fulltime.

Everything sounds good, once my car is fixed, I want to take it up to Island Dragway and make a few passes. Can't wait for that. Also have to decide what color to paint my car. Its brown now, but the paint is faded, so I think I'm going to have it painted brown again, my friend Tara helped me pick out several colors two of them are a Brownish-Bronze color, while the other one that I want to go with is a Dark Chocolate Color, but then again, so many other colors to choose from. Its going to get painted in August, so I have time to think about it. Later, Jeff.

I can't wait for the car shows. One of the best ones is in my town of Lyndhurst at the Whiskey Cafe. There are about 400 cars every week, some of the usuals, but many new cars each and every week, free admission for spectators as well as people who put their cars in the show and only domestics. When the warmer weather comes, I'll probably make another thread so we can all go there one Saturday night. Can't wait for atleast March so I can put my 15x10 Pro-Stars back on my car. Just put two new tires on the front 15x7 Pro-Stars a few days ago. Summer here we come. . . Later, Jeff.
A bit of tuning, finishing the inteior, possibly a roll bar and I still keep kickin arround the idea of tossing in a Dana 44 rear from a C4 Vette.

...what color to paint my car. Its brown now, but the paint is faded, so I think I'm going to have it painted brown again...
is that a manual car? did you take a stick in the brown?
plans... find machine shop, get block cleaned up and bearings installed, buy parts, build motor, finish hood for the '87, finish body work, pull motor and trans, clean up engine bay, paint engine bay, install 400 (if the previously mentioned take place), built 700r4, paint, race.
my winter plans included getting the 400 built, but cash is short. once settlment occurs, this will all change, of course. then it's time to make friends with an auto parts supply in the area.
attend as many car shows and club events as is possible.

My plan is to get my 3rd gen running (again), sell it, then use the money to pick up a 2nd gen TA and start the restoration process all over again. :flop:

Get the car back on the road and pray to god it stays that way. Other than that, cruising ALOT...maybe a few shows, but I am tired of shows and would rather just drive the damn thing.

Just keep on driving both cars like I did in the fall, winter and spring. I have a project with 8 years of down time so the 2000 and the 1970 need to stay in driving condition. I might look into a trans swap for the 70 if I keep the car. I'm getting a little tired of the trans leak.

Gotta divide the time between the T/A (Complete frame off), my 84 K5 Blazer (Rebuild) and wheeling my Jeep. Oh, and Saturday nights WILL be spent at The Chatterbox gawking at all the sweet rides. Didn't get there nearly enough last year.

Get rid of the pile of parts sitting on the shelf in my garage, which will include:
1. - Rebuilding the front suspension, including adding disks, and installing s/s brake lines front and rear;
2. - Swaping out the single-plane intake and lumpy cam for the stock '67 Vette intake and a milder cam. I also want to swap out for a short water pump, and add all the original brackets and pulleys to make it look like a stock 67 under the hood. Right now, the alternator is on the wrong side. BTW, if anyone has pre-1968 stock sbc brackets or pulleys, PM me.
3. - Patching the trunk floor, hopefully without messing up the paint job too much. While I'm back there, I'll probably strip the undercoating off the rear wheel wells (not looking forward to that one).

A day like this makes me can't wait for the summer even more. Just being able to cruise with windows down and listening to nothing else than my car rumble down the road as people turn their heads and stare. Me and my friend are supposed to duke it out at Island Dragway this summer, my '83 Z-28 against his '71 Chevelle, thats going to be a good race. I've got a 355 Stroker with about 450 horse to the wheels and his '71 Chevelle was an original 6 cylinder, but he put in a 350 and now the car roars, both are automatic, but his is on the column while mine is a B & M Ratchet Shifter, he has about 400 horse to the wheels in his car, but I think I should be able to take him, we've attempted it a few times while we cruise and I usually pull ahead of him, but then we both have to slow down before we get too carried away. Summer here we come. Later, Jeff.

No plans for the cars yet. Currently focusing all my attention on getting my business up and running well, so that I can have money for the cars. I'll be going to all the carlisles this year, as well as trying to hit up local spots. I'll be working at Island full time, and really not sure how much racing i'll be doing this year since we haven't touched the race car since we put it away. It could use new rods and pistons, but unfortunately, money is tight and with my track record, its probably not a good idea to run. I don't want to destroy another motor

Im going to try and get the car back together, finish the rear interior work, swap in a frod 9", maybe Lt's and a 4 or 4.5" exhaust, rearrange all the crapola in the garage so i can actually get the car out, and maybe, if im lucky, put some miles on it this year.
Maybe even splurge on a really good tune and have it dynoed.

When does Island open up again for the season? I'm looking forward to it so I can bring my Z-28 up there and make a few passes. ATCO I think opens in a few weeks, but I don't feel like driving all the way down there, and I would go to RaceWay Park, but I don't feel like getting kicked out after one pass, Island Dragway is just the place to go. Thanks, Jeff.

when don't i work there? I'm there 7 days, and will continue to be except for the weekends there's a show at carlisle, because I'll be out there. Providing I'm there, chances are there will be at least two njfboa members for you to meet there :)

Test and tune prices will stay the same at $30 to race. As long as its not a carlisle weekend, me and SteveR will be there working, and usually theres a good chance others will show up to race.

Its really not that far from our Area. I'm in the Paterson area, along with a few other people here and we tend to go to Island a lot. I'm sure we will post up more this spring in the North section for caravans.
