What do you think? I see both threads from GamerIDs for both PS3 & XboX 360, let's see what you guys think. If this is a repeat thread please disreguard it.

I have a 360 and my bro has a PS3. I think right now the 360 is better, because it has the online community more setup than the PS3 does right now. Once Sony gets its interactive online thing going, it'll be pretty nice. The load times on the 360 are a lot better than the PS3. The 360 also has a good catalog of titles already and the PS3 is still catching up.

I like the ps3 better, already has blue ray, the online frined lists and stuff isn't as good as 360 but it's going to get better, the game titles also are getting up there too. downfall is 60$ games takes a toll

I'll be getting a PS3 at some point over 360 mainly for bluray capability, not sure if I'll just keep my PS2 or make sure I get a PS3 with backwards compatibility yet. I would say on a gaming level they both seem to have very good stuff out there so I supposed for most it will come down to the series games they prefer like how im a big GT & rachet & clank fan :D

Ya ps3 all the way. the online may not be as great as the 360, but its free. i like free lol. of course you get what you pay for, so when comparing something that you pay for (360 online) to something that is free (ps3 online), the 360 online should be better!! but overall i just never got into the 360. i also absolutly DESPISE the controller for the 360. it make me wanna kill rabbits or something just wrong and F'ed up. the ps controller is perfect. once the develpoers get the hang of the ps3s ubber complicated hardware and take advantage of the blue rays memory capacity there's gonna be some amazing games coming out in the future for the ps3.

ps: Wii :supergay:

Thats funny because i hate the controller for the ps3.... At this point i like the 360 better because of the game titles and the online set up even though it costs 5 bucks a month... I could see ps3 being better IF and thats a big if... the online picks up and they start releasing some great games that are not for the 360... the blue ray is a big bonus but they are coming out with one for the 360 that will be like 150 bucks

its that cheap? i thought it was like 25 bucks or something? the 360 is a great system dont get me wrong. but ive always been a ps guy. and while the games arent as good on the ps3, they should be getting better. the original xbox i really didnt like at all. i think for the first time in console history you really CANT go wrong with either system..... except the Wii...im sorry...it sucks....it doesnt belong outside a toilet bowl....but the 360 and the ps3 are both incredible machines. of course there are advantages to each as well as disadvantages overall you really cant go wrong especially in the future. cuz the ps3 will eventually get some really top quality gams as well as top quality ps only games (MGS) and hopefully the online gets better. and the 360 is gonna get a blue ray player, though from what ive read its not as good as the ps3s blue ray player. either way again, cant loose..................unless you get the Wii

 just picked up a Wii last week for my family, not as good as the 360 but its a nice change up from sitting there doing nothing. I absolutely love my 360, dont have much time to play it, but when I do COD4 has been the way to go.

No, it's just under $60 for a one year subscription, and you can find the subscription cards on ebay and such for $45-$50 without too much trouble. I'd rather pay a little bit every month for a much better online experience (that just get even better with their recent update) to go along with my less expensive system.

I don't really see how the player for 360 is going to be better or worse than the one in ps3....it's a DVD player - either it plays them or it doesn't.

On a side note....has there been any mention of when Sony might start to take advantage of the capacity of the blu-ray discs since every ps3 has a blu-ray player? It would (in theory) give them a huge advantage over microsoft since they can release every game that way and not have to worry about alienating their users who didn't buy the "upgraded" player.

PS3 is already wireless - correct me if im wrong but don’t u have to buy a $100 adapter for the 360 to be wireless?

I love my PS3 - connected to a 60 flat screen (with HDMI cable - 1080p) with complete surround sound - Playing COD4 is almost too lifelike. Also can’t beat the built in blue ray player. That’s $300+ by itself.

You can get a 13 month subscription from Game Stop for 49.99. Or you can do a 1 month, 3 month, or 6 month one too.

The problem with the 50gig storage capacity on the blu-ray discs is seek time, hence loading. The big problem with these first few generations of PS3s is that they get a really cheap version of the blu-ray player, they're nowhere near as good as say the stand alone S-300 player. But even that one has poor load/seek times. The technology is still developing and the consumer gets to live through the early versions of the systems before they really catch up to their full potential. The next problem is that with the storage capacity of the blu-ray, there isnt anything else out that can match it, so when the hardware catches up, the developers would have to make the choice as to whether they want to spent twice as much money on a single game title in development (Gears of War for the 360 cost over 6 million dollars) because they would have to make a 360 version and a PS3 version, or to only do the development for the PS3. That choice isnt going to happen soon as it still isnt proven whether the PS3 will hold up and the gamers will accept it and the consumer support will keep the community going forward. The 360 is established and developers feel comfortable investing the money and time creating titles for the system because the gamers are buying them and Microsoft is backing it. Sure, the other PS versions have done well and Sony is behind it, especially now that Panasonic and their parters are dropping HD/DVDs for good, so blu-ray is now the only HD large storage format disc system on the market. But just because its good, doesnt mean it'll do well, just look at he Atari Jaguar that came out like 15 years ago. It was light years ahead of everything else at the time, but sales were lower than expected, and developers didnt trust it, so regardless of its potential and its sales, it was canceled. Im sure the PS3 will catch up to the 360 in terms of sales and titles, but they really need to fix the problems, and taking away the 100% backwards compatibility surely will hurt its appeal to current PS gamers that like the games they have and want to be able to continue playing them and are looking for a reason to drop huge bucks down on a new system, thats still slow.

The "official" adapter from Microsoft is $99, but there are dozens of options out there for far less money. I spent ~$60 on my wireless bridge, and it lets me connect 3 other devices wirelessly too.

Circuit City's got a website similar to that
http://www.tradingcircuit.com/Default.aspx

but now it looks like they do strictly ebay auctions only..

i used to be a hardcore PS guy...but i traded in my PS2 and picked up an XBOX360 premium package, two games, and a chargin kit for like $400ish...but i love the XBOX live and the customer service is awesome too...my XBOX stopped working, i sent it for repair, they sent me a brand new one...no shipping costs or anything :-)
