Hey all, yes I found out what's wrong with my trans, seems as though the clutches have welded together and it's requiring a rebuild. Now, should I either rebuild or buy another trans. I'm very tight on money. Two shops want 900+ to rebuild, autozone i can get oem clutches for 260, but then have to find someone to install'em. Or i can find a stock 4l60e for <$400 and use it in the mean time. Also some friends said go and do a T56 swap, but i'm very hesitent to even consider this lol.

What do you guys think?

yeah, i mean i'm not going to be hard on the car because i still have work left to do until i can beat the piss outta it, but im quite angry that my stage 5 needs rebuild but i can't do anything now just have to figure out my next step.

IF ANYONE HAS A STOCK 4L60E FOR SALE LET ME KNOW! HAH

Did you take the trans back to the shop that built it? Did they not offer any kind of warranty?

Well I purchased the trans off a member on ls1tech and i contacted the shop that built it via the number on the paperwork i received, they said no warranty though because it's no longer in the original owner's hands and it has been more than 30 days due to it being a race-built trans, so it's totally up to me now.

the previous one i had built in cinnaminson but that trans went bad also that shop shut down. the one i have now i got off a member on ls1tech with all paperwork, only prob is the warranty time as passed. now i'm looking at either a 4l80e swap, or t56, or something i dont know, i'm just sit of stuff on this car breaking when it doesnt even leave my driveway. lol
