Nissan is being very very restrictive of this car. There is a certain way you have to buy it, you void your warranty if you race it without going to a Nissan race class and pay the $1k for it, and now this.

'Ricers' can't afford the car anyway, can they?

Screw that POS. Even w/o any standard ricer mods that thing is just an ugly, over rated, over priced, ricer's wet dream! Maybe I'll get THAT printed on a tee shirt! :-x

Not quite....

"Under the hood is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 that pumps out a whopping 480 bhp. This puts the GT-R right up there in the power department with the heralded Porsche 911 Turbo. And it's going to be half the price. We expect a 0–60-mph time of 3.5 seconds and a quarter-mile dash of just under 12. The Nissan will handle well too, thanks to ATTESA-ETS all-wheel drive and fat Bridgestone tires. Expect the 2009 Nissan GT-R to make its debut next summer at a very reasonable price of $70,000."

70 grand reasonable? I think not. Sexy car, but not worth 70 grand..

With the Z06 being some 700lbs less, and having an extra 25hp over the GTR, Id really like to see how the GTR pulls a faster 0-60 time then the Z?
Z06 must have some nasty nasty wheel slip...

AWD. I believe the Z06 toes the fine line between sacrificing speed for traction from 0-60, where it semi-bogs or spins...That's the only speed thing I agree with for the GTR. I don't think it could be the Z06 in anything else performancewise.

i think that all cars should come with a "no ricer" manual

Then they would have to make a book called how to read a manual for dummies.

Not to mention it supposedly runs the same times in the 1/4...riiiiight(according the magazines), I guess it defies the laws of physics lol.

The ironic thing is that the magazines are trying to compare the GT-R to the Z06 when Nissan wasn't even designing the car to compete with that class. Oh well, I guess when you're king of the hill everyone tries to knock you off. :)

Big ****in' deal! It's still ugly, and I can think of a buncha others ways to spend 70G...like on a Vette. Sorry, but there ain't gonna be a hand job Harry outa me for this high line ricer!

Yep. My guess is that they are sick of rice boys making their stuff look bad. How would you like it if you spent years of R&D on an excellent performing car that is just about perfect in your eyes only to have some moron think they can "improve" it by tacking on useless body parts and other "accessories".

True; but if the mods are done tastefully, they can look reallly nice. The Skyline Paul Walker had in F&TF2, IMO was nice looking. By "tastefully" i don't mean throw DUBS on it and a giant "park bench" wing with an absurd body kit. The Supra and the RX-7 from the first one is what i consider "tasteful" (minus the rocket man on the Supra)...

But i see your point; they get ppl who open up a parts mag and go nuts on it. Next thing you know there are 100 stickers on the damn thing (some of which are parts the dont even have), a giant wing, rims that look like Funk Master Flex got his hands on them (c'mon ppl, must we "DUB" everything...?!), some body kit that isn't even a "kit" as it includes a front/rear bumper, side skirts, and hood (that doesn't even sit flush) from 4 different kits. not to mention they have a 6 different shade "MACCO custom paint job" complete w/ chips, and a muffler on it that sounds like the car ate 4 bean burrito's from taco bell....
