Let this be a lesson to the Admins, I swear if this site doesn't speed up I'm gonna go off somebody

Obviously this kid has issues, real nice job on the mother's part by not being worried about the suicide threats on myspace..good way to be a parent

I hope the pro gun control people don't jump on this.

Schlicker was charged with first-degree murder and will be tried as an adult.

welp, i hope he likes to have a needle in his arm. it will be the last pain he feels before he goes off to join his father. it's only a shame it didn't happen in texas. at least then we'd know he would die for sure. for those who don't know, texas goes through your appeals in a matter of months, not years.

i wish someone had been able to talk him out of killing his dad. if it was a question of killing his dad or killing himself, i would talk him into doing himself. all of this because po' little rich boy couldn't play with his MySpace. what a total and complete loser.

one of the few times when i think the parents are totally culpable. his mom probably babied him for most of his life, which is why he went and offed his father. his dad was probably the disciplinarian of the two, and mom most likely coddled him. she should have been all over him on the computer to begin with, but the way parents are today they think at least the kid isn't bugging them when he's on the computer. unfortunately, it goes back to the argument of the kids not being able to distinguish fantasy from reality, like the "trench coat mafia" and others that have been in the media in the past few years. it's bad.

as for the gun controlists, i think they will use this. they use anything that supports their argument, no matter how they have to twist it to fit.

kind of off topic but where does it talk about the family's finances anywhere in the article??

i agree with knipps. and disagree about the kid being emo. he doesnt fit all if the criteria to be a true emo kid. just because someone wants to end their own life doesnt mean that theyre emo. theres plenty of non emo people that get f'd up in the head and cant take the pressure anymore- men, women, and children.

P.S. kasey, most 15yr olds are bigger than you. they would put you in a trashcan; upside-down

i usually do not rely on one source of information. when i read something like this, i try to gather as much info from as many different sources as possible, because editors have their jobs and sometimes some pertinent information may be inadvertantly deleted from the original story.

from USA Today:
Police arrested Hughstan after the slaying at the Pueblo Seco Condominiums (http://www.desertwide.com/subdivisions/Mesa_PuebloSecoCondominiums.shtml) and accused him of first-degree murder.

from East Valley Tribune:
Hughstan Schlicker also said the anger he felt toward his father festered when the teen's parents took away his computer...

from News5, Phoenix:
Police said they told Schlicker's mother about the threats; she allegedly told them she wasn't worried and promised to lock up any guns in the house.
Schlicker portrayed his father as a loving man who only wanted the best for him and who used to take him on hunting trips.

those condos ain't cheap. the family had more than one gun, according to the mother's statement about locking up the "guns", 15 year old has a home computer, father took him on hunting trips. although the part about the hunting trips could've meant a retreat nearby the house, i've been to the phoenix area and there really isn't anywhere to hunt, so they must've gone out of the area which means they spent money on it, and that means the father had a decent job that he took vacation time from.

all of this leads me to believe that the kid is a spoiled little rich kid.

i know a guy who has a condo and it doesnt cost him rediculous amounts of money. beachfront condos are way expensive though. hunting trips can vary on price, depending on where you go. anyone can buy a computer these days, and maybe he inherited the guns lol
