blew the headers gaskets on the 1st run and lost a plug wire to the header......bolts must have rattled loose on the way there. I tightened em up and spliced the wire back together but it was too little too late. O well, theres still next week.

BTW I ran a 14.4 @ 95.44, dropped my 1/8 time from a 9.9 to a 9.3
I came off the line getting wheel hop like a MOFO, pullin a 2.0 60' barked 2nd nice and loud
I need Tire....these freakin 215s just are not gonna cut it

i got 2 16x8 4 gen rims with 245 wide street tires on them. Would fix the issue with your tires sticking out 2 inches with that 4th gen rear.. and get some 16' DR's on them and you will be set

I was supposedly going to get a set from a certain member......but that never came together

bubba428
03-13-2008, 01:06 PM
haha....for some reason the car wasn't firing on all 8, kept backfiring. I need to figure out this crap cause theres no way the car is going to spin 2nd on the track and be that slow. I think I actually leaned out the carb too much

Mike
03-13-2008, 03:13 PM
still be a good run :) ill probably run between 13.6 and 14.0 in this weather

pull your plugs and take a look at them. if theyre more white than anything, chances are its lean. if it was backfiring, i would think that it is a ignition or timing issue since a backfire is basically unspent fuel. i dont think it would backfire if it was too lean.

on a side note- do you really have your rear brakes installed and is that the original trans or a different one? and is your rear making any more horrible noises?

bubba428
03-14-2008, 06:02 AM
the plugs are brand new...the only miles they had were to the track...I think either the firing order is wrong or the wires are shot. the trans stopped making noise and so did the rear, I'm not sure why but I still need to change them. and yes the the brakes were installed but I had used calipers and they seized. so0o untill I can afford new ones no

Looks like you got me beat already. My car's still on jack stands. I have to get crackin on the TH350 and get it together. I got a mini spool, headers, TH350 swap kit and i'm in the process of trying to get lighter 15" rims (8" and 3 1/2"). All I need is a 4.11 ring and pinion. Do you know anyone who's got a 4.11 gear set new or used for a 7.5 3 series 10 bolt?

bubba428

Mini spool? Do you have c-clip eliminators?

No c-clip eliminators. I got the mini spool because I only have the stock 305 and i'm not worried about breaking anything.

Unless you are planning on trailering the car to the track, I would. Even then they area good idea. The spool won't hold the axles in if you break something in the rear, so they'll just slide right out of the axle tube.....

because the wires were shot...I took care of that a few days ago. Thats why I'm gonna go run the car Friday night and Tuesday night. I just need to get the boxed LCAs in and get some wider rubber so the wheel hop don't shake the car apart...again. It was so bad I have rips in the control arm bushing and both control arms are bowed.

wow...thats one powerful car you have there...i have seen some sub 12 second cars cut 1.6-1.7 60' on stock suspension and not even do that...congrats.

 I'm not saying the car is some mighty god of a car...Its the combination of crappy tires, crappy track conditions, and 22 year old crappy factory parts. But now I have the power to expose other weaknesses like that I'll be making more progress faster.

excuses????? If I was making up excuses why would I be running the car again Friday AND Tuesday??? An excuses would be to run a ****** time and blame it on every thing but the car, and refusing to run again.

you weren't spinning when me and Ron watched your launch. The ripped and worn out suspension could BE the vibrations that you may be confusing with wheel hop.

thats cause you and Ron saw my 2nd run, the 14.7 and I didn't launch as hard. A friend of mine has the 1st on his phone and you can hear it.
