Saw the Bay Atlantic Symphony at school, im a closet fan of orchestra music (no homo), and the wife had to see the concert for class so i had nothing better to do and tagged along...i must say, it was ****in awesome, the solo in Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto was absolutely amazing...i think im gonna be going to more, it kicked major ass

that's awesome! I think I'd like to go see one some day.. Unlike most metallica fans, my favorite album is S&M that they did with teh San Francisco Orchestra

Classical music is amazing to see live. One of the best I've seen is Stravinsky's 'Firebird Suite' (an F-Body orchestration! lol) done by the New York Philharmonic. Absolutely amazing. If you go there, the best seat in the house is the second level up, center, facing the stage, front row. You get a seat towards the rear on the back wall and the sound wraps around the hall and is truly amazing.

I've seen classical live as a "favor" for my mom, she had a 2nd ticket and didn't want to go alone after her friend backed out, i didn't hate it as much as she thought i did

only thing is the show was rather short... i'll see if i can find out who/what we saw

There's nothing "homo" at all about liking and enjoying classical music. Seeing and hearing it live is all the better. We saw the St Petersburg Philharmonic at NJPAC back in November and they were great. I've also seen a few operas and Andrea Bocelli. And actually, many rockers train in classical, too. I don't know if he has anything recorded and released, but I've heard Zakk play classical on acoustic and he's nothing short of amazing. I wish I could play like that.

I just finished showing that video to my Intro to Music students. Even the non-Metallica fans thought it was pretty cool. ;) Personally, I like that album because the arrangements really complement Metallica's music and add a different dimension to it.

My wife and I also went to see Andrea Bocelli at the Meadowlands back in November, and the concert was incredible. Of course, I think most of us appreciate classical music from the Classical period (Bach, early Beethoven, etc.), and Romantic period stuff like the aforementioned Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky . I know I can't really listen to music from the Baroque time period; it's too busy for my taste.
