ok, on an LS1 power steering pump, what size is the O-ring between the pump body and the resivior? My pump assembly is leaking. I ruled out the return line and the high pressure line, Its also not coming from the front shaft seal. Only thing left it could be is the seal between the pump and resivior or a cracked resivior. I wanna get a replacment O-ring prior to pulling the resivior so ill have it on hand to swap out quick.
Anyone know the size?

so therefore your post in my thread means nothing and was not called for

anyways, i went to autozone, had him pull me a new pump, no resivior, off the shelf. We opened it and looked at the included O ring. I then matched it up to one in an assorted kit they had. So all should be good now. Later tonight i may pop the resivior off and change it. Hopefully thats all it is.

mine had been leaking out of the the metal line running out the side of pump. F'in thing leaked like a siv all over the alternator. Hope thats all you need is a 5 cent O-ring.

i got the resivior off, the original o-ring is rock hard and distorted. It seems to be only that so far. I just cleaned the resivior and sprayed down the pump and alt with brake cleaner. It started snowing pretty heavy before, so i had to call it a night. I'll put it back together this weekend and see how it is then.

k, its all back together. i put a dab of black rtv silicone around the o-ring to ensure a perfect seal and then bolted it all back up. i let it sit a bit then just filled it up with new fluid. I also sparayed everything down again to make sure its clean and dry so ill notice any new leaks right away. In a little while i'll check it again and start it up to make sure its all good, then maybe ill take it for a spin...

so far so good. When i trailered the car up here, there was a puddle from it just sitting on the trailer overnight, now its sat about a week and theres no puddle at all. I havent popped the hood to check after i had it out today but it seems the o-ring fix was all it needed.

If you do need a new reservoir, I have a new GM LS1 f-body reservoir that I'll be putting up for sale soon.
