Time: Show up anytime after 9:00 am, first car gets strapped to the dyno at 9:45, pulls will begin at 10:00 sharp

Time for our 3rd annual Dyno Day @ TTP! Anyone who attended the dyno day the last two years can tell you, there is nothing like hanging out at TTP, watching some great cars lay down some numbers, and munching on all the awesome food provided my TTPMom and TTPGranny. Feel free to show up and hang out, even if you aren't having your car put on the dyno.

They normally charge $100 for 4 pulls with no wideband, and $125 for 4 pulls with wideband.

You should go! I'm hoping to dyno the Monte that day, just need to make sure my parents can watch the kids since my wife has to work.

And, the wideband means Wideband O2 sensor. They have a probe like they use at the DMV that they stick in the tailpipe to let you know if you're running rich/lean while they're winding it out on the dyno. I think it's more accurate if you have the !cat mod though. :)

To be more specific on the wideband reading it gives you a much more accurate measure of your air:fuel ratio. Older technology such as OBDI used an O2 sensor that switched between lean and rich fairly slowly and gave an overall general picture of the ratio. Newer OBDII cars run an O2 sensor that is much more precise and samples the air at a much much faster rate allowing you to pinpoint and fine tune your AF ratio at pretty much every RPM on the scale.

Dyno only....they do tuning at TTP though, and you could schedule an appointment to have that done (not the same day though - won't be enough time).

Don't worry about putting down low numbers. My brother dyno'ed his stock 2bbl 305 '79 Malibu 2 years ago @ TTP. I think it put down ~106hp and ~175tq :nod:

yeah, the numbers are just a secondary thing, having fun is the main part of it. I dynoed my jeep last year. 133HP and 208 lb/ft 8)

I had to leave before the last 3 cars got put on the dyno, but we saw some good numbers before and several people were taking pics / video.

The G8 put down so so numbers in the higher 80-85% based on what I've seen.

I ended up with 320 hp and 327 tq so that's not too bad for an automatic. Just about exactly what I was expecting so I'm pretty happy. It kept making a little more power with each pull so I don't think the new computer and tune had enough time to learn this week. It might have another 3-5 hp left in it but it doesn't really matter. I was surprised at how loud my car was even with dual high flow cats! The Random Tech muffler is pretty much a straight through but still very mellow at low rpm's and cruising.

Made out better than me :( my car was lean too and they ran it one time to 4k, got little under 200 hrp and something like 260 ft lbs. My car got me so bummed I immediately gave it some tlc when I got home. New front brakes and struts(had them laying around) cleaned the underside of the car a little bit. Tomorrow im getting my new cat back and body parts, maybe my new y pipe and carb. Next week im getting it tuned so I can also go back to the dyno with a correct running car.

You had a really nice third gen and good numbers! Who says cutouts dont work? lol I picked up 15rwhp when opening mine on the dyno.

Regardless, I had a good time. The HP you guys were putting down was Impressive !! The Chevy guys looked happy.

I will talk to my mechanic to see where I can improve without any major changes. Then bring it back for another run since I won the raffle, pretty cool !!

Planning on the 2008 East Coast F-Body Nationals Car Show in August I should have my Interior, Door Panels and some Trim completed by then.

Yep, my wife had to work this weekend and my in-laws were supposed to watch Giada so I could come down with Anthony, but something came up that they had to do. Anthony's great at those events (he came to Dyno Day last year and had a ball!) but Giada is only 2, and a little terror. Hopefully they'll run another Dyno Day this year and we'll make it to that one!

I'm bummed we missed it too, looks like you guys had a great time, and there were some sick cars as usual!

That sounds about right, if not a lil above average for a 305.

Yep, getting some work done that I can't do myself. I would have cleaned the car up if I knew people were gonna be looking at it during a dyno day lol. Hopefully get her back this week.
