Twice in the last three days I've been in near accidents because a$sholes hate being passed. A dodge ram almost ran me off a bridge when I switched lanes to pass him. And tonight an Infiniti SUV was gonna switch lanes to let me pass, goes half way and then comes back and slams on the brakes. I was literally a half inch from touching their rear bumper. These people should not be allowed to reproduce. But sadly there will always be morons out on the road. Sorry, I just needed to vent somewhere.

well I don't think your friend did it on purpose. These people purposely tried to wreck me.

my pet peeve is when following someone in traffic. Instead of hitting their brakes, they wait till the last minute and dive into the other lane. Thus, leaving me to stare at a stopped car, and having to slam on my brakes.
I hate that more then anything. And its not following too closely, I leave enough room to stop but to not let anyone in. :)

People Drive like idiots around here. You can have the nicest restored vehicle and some moron will come along and tailgate you. If it's not a New Yuppie Mobile like theirs than your outa place and in their way.

it's funny you mention that. i don't drive like that on other roads, but on Rt. 9 around here if you don't drive that way someone will pull out in front of you. not pull in behind the other traffic, but wait until you are almost on top of them before they pull out. i didn't realize it at first, but that is exactly the truth. so i played a few games one week and would leave three cars lengths between me and the car ahead of me. sure enough, not once, but repeatedly, cars would pull out in front of me. there must be something wrong with their reaction times is all i can think is the problem. if you leave more than one car length between you and the car ahead of you, someone will try to pull out in front of you. both of my step-sons have had accidents out here on Rt. 9, until i told them of the problem. now they drive like i do - where there is less than a car length between you and the car ahead of you. you can't drive that way without paying full attention to what you are doing, but at least it keeps the idiots from pulling out in front of you.

aside from the usual pet peeves, i saw something today that had me shocked. 2 incidents actually:
1. an audi s8, an enormous sports sedan was flying through an intersection at about 60-70mph. now i was approaching said intersection from the opposite side. on my side there is a straight lane and a left turn only lane, and the opposite side had one lane. i was merging into the left turn lane cause it was green and i was making a left, no one else was in that lane. coming at me was a slow moving sedan and behind him was the audi gaining on him fast. instead of stopping the audi had already committed to pass him before i was in the left turn lane. so i went in the left turn lane to see an audi coming into my lane head on at ridiculous speed. thank God for my quick thinking i threw the wheel as hard as i could back into the straight lane and avoided a monstrous accident by only a couple feet.
2. on the way home after first incident, i was following a camry who refused to stay behind this corolla. one lane each way and a windy road (Rt. 202). camry decides to pass corolla on a blind corner. camry took forever to pass him but just as he passed him, a hummer rounds the corner. if the camry had decided 2 seconds later to pass him, someone would have lost their life.
actually its not fair to call others out without checking my driving first. i merged into traffic today without yielding because i was expecting to have a merge lane. thankfully there were no cars there but that was stupid on my part. anyway, i think we should all be careful out there
