Little history...
My cousin bought this car with 25K back in 96 or 97. All mods I listed he had done at a professional shop. Nothing on this car is a backyard screw around and lets try hack install.

With 16" (255/50/16) DR's out back the car has mustered a best of 13.5. IIRC the car has cut a high 1.7 60' on those DR's. I bought it May of '07 and when I ran it on the Kuhmo's (275/40/17) on it now I cut a 1.8 60' and clipped off a 13.8. The Kuhmo's still have tread left for a season, maybe if you're nice two.

I'm "Selling" the car ALONE, not with the Welds and DR's. If the price is right, I have a Holley StealthRAM BRAND NEW (With fittings and lines) that would go with the car.

Basically my Cousin sold me his baby, and I helped Her along the way and while she still turns heads I think its time for me to sell her for the right price. Im not looking for 1 mil, but a reasonable offer and gauging intrest. I asked a MOD already if this was the right place so...

What's a good asking price?

if its the car in ur sig, the unpainted hood hurts as well as the mentioned paint on the roof. i would really need to see lots of pics to even ball park it, and mileage too. could be any where from 2k-8k depending on overall condition and mileage

Yes IIRC the isolators are there.

Man, I am undestimating the value of 3rd gens. 120k+ miles and bad paint, no AC and modded and you think he can get 4500? Huh, I would not have thought that. Good for you.

Paint the hood for $500 and you got yourself a nice ride. I dont see any other problems with the body besides the unpainted hood.

if you want the best price, get a stock hood back on it. with being the last year of the 3rd gens and if there were only 3k or so made, having mostly original parts is better than and aftermarket hood.

yeah, but he doesn't have the stock hood or the blisters, so he'd be chasing what is a prized possession: a '92 stock hood with the blisters. almost no one would give it up, and if you did find someone parting out a car, or whatever, expect to pay through the nose for it.

hindsight is always 20/20, but looking back it's still a bit fuzzy... should have kept the stock hood (your cousin, presumably) to sell with the car and the modifications made.

while i will be extensively modding the '87, i still have the stock pieces and nothing will get modified that can't be returned to stock. you never know, in 20 years someone might be willing to second mortgage their house for a stock '87 camaro.

as it sits, i'd say you could get 2800. there is a paint job in the next owner's future, and that stuff doesn't come cheaply (probably why your hood remains unpainted). so figure 3k in paint to paint the hood and blend in the fenders and nose. its value would increase, but not by so much that you could justify painting it to sell it. you'd be throwing away a coupla hundred to increase the value of the car - not worth it, in my eyes. also, with the miles where they are, the top end could probably use some refreshing. nice stealth ram, would increase the red line by a few hundred RPMs. still, if you did it yourself, you'd never recoup what you put in it.

a car is only worth modifying if you are going to keep it.

Sucks youre selling it. If you do want to go back to the stock blisters Find me a set and I'll repaint the ones that go to the car. (Yes I did buy them off of mike 3 years ago. heh.)

kelley lists a suggested retail price of $4,555... that does not take into account the modifications you've made, because we all know what dealers think of modified cars. or do we?

Obviously the car, if sold would go to a private party. KBB is as reliable as a weatherman. I was just gauging intrest. While it sucks the car doesnt have the stock hood, the HSR wont fit under the stocker so Im glad he bought the Cervini for it.

Thanks all, I appreciate the input.

it's not easy finding out what your modified car is worth, unless you talk to someone who is interested in your car with the modifications you have made. then it all depends on what he's willing to pay...

i've seen more angry people leave a dealership because of what their car is actually worth as opposed to what they thought it was worth or feel it should be worth.

Oh yeah? I just had to cut a small section off the hood. It is just a bump for the padding retainer. Other than that, it clears enough for me.

Hmm, everything Ive read before I bought it mentioned that you had to cut into the hood or buy an aftermarket. On the flipside if I cut anything from my stock hood it might depreciate the value of my car so... ;)

Im thinkin if you know you want at least $3500 for the car u can always put it up for $4500 obo. Than if someone comes and offers you 4K you both make out cause he paid $500 less than the asking price and you got $500 more than you wanted, but it is a great lookin car good luck with whatever you decide to do with it.
