So i finally took the iroc to the track last night. I was honestly expecting a 15.0 MAYBE a 14.9 at like 92 or so. I ended up with a 14.722@95.76. It's definatly a lot better than i thought. What really made me happy was my horrible 2.44 60 foot lol. I just let it roll off the line so i wouldnt just sit and spin. Im kinda happy cuz i know i can get the 60ft down to a 2.1 i should be able to knock a 14.5 maybe even a 14.4 pass. Which is a million times better tahn i thought the car can do. I cant find the timeslip but when i find it ill put all the details. Overall im kinda happy because i have a good idea now what the car is really capable of. What im not happy about is paying 28 bucks to get 1 run in 1hr 45 minutes. Am i the only one that's getting sick of the wed test and tunes at etown?? I only made one pass and left because i didnt wanna wait anymore. damn it.

throw some radials on it..

im tired of e town, its too crowded and like you said you wait all night for 1 run, and if someone breaks on the track your F'ed...im thinking about giving island a try

Atco hasn't been any better this year guys....

A 2.44 60 and you still ran that??? Figuratively if you get that down to a 2.10 it should go as low as 14.1.... But your MPH says more like a 14.3. Still not bad though.

At the beginning and end of the seasons you're gonna see a lot of breakage, so that leads to down time. If you don't get a lot of runs in due to oil downs and what not, don't give up on the track, not like they can help it. If its just because there's too many people, well, maybe try a different track. But most places on a crowded day it will probably be about an hour between runs.

ya when i saw that 2.44 i was pissed. i was praying for a 15.2 at that point. i was really surprised at the 14.7. i figure a 14.4 is gonna end up being my best as is. it's got a posi that's not locking and 2.73 gears. so i'm happy with the 14.7 lol. but it's good to know it's got more in it with even just a better 60. does island have test and tunes during the week?

Thats pretty good your first run with it. That sixty can be improved and you'll be low 14's no problem.

ya considering the 16 second 60 foot it's not bad at all. i'm hoping better tires, ypipe to complete the full exhaust and more seat time will get me a 14.2 MAYBE 14.1 but i'm sure 14.1 is pushing it. maybe with slp runners. are slp runners even worth getting?

hmm. So there really isnt much i can do really besides the ypipe gears tires that'll make a difference without getting in the motor.

Suspension, weight reduction, converter will all help too.

lol you beat me to it!

2.44 60'? is it spinning one wheel? or are you running 44psi in those tires? lol

lol ya she's a one legger. well actually she does have a posi but it almost never locks. only like on a hard left turn. im sure the clutches are shot. ill get another rear in a month or two. what about porting the runners? is that worth the time and effort?

yeah man definately work on getting a posi rear, something with a better ratio than 2.73 lol. that will help you out alot!

Not even close to the truth if all you have done is in your signature..

ya i know. right off the bat i definatly ned to wap ths rear out. its a 2.73 one legger. horrible. that along with some good tires maybe some stret radials and i know that'll make a huge differnce in itself. after that i dont know wha directin to go. im sure i can stat bolting on parts to make the hp but i would rather work on even just a few suspension mods first to get the hp that woud come later down to the ground more effience. what direction should i take after the rear and tires?

What he said. There are a TON of little things you can do. You haven't even cracked the surface when it comes to mods on that car without opening up the motor.

What good is the power if you can't get it to the ground. Work on the suspension first. Do a good set of sub frame connectors, a set of lower control arms, a torque arm, panhard rod(not sure if that's really needed).

You can then start bolting on some things that will make some power. Cold air intake, a good tune, port your plenum, etc. I'm sure Josh(JS Performance) can add some more and help you out with things.

does island have test and tunes during the week?

Only thing we'll be having during the week aside from actual rentals is our BBQ & Cruise nights which will be the 1st & 3rd wed of the month starting May 7th. Will be $15 to race or watch, yummy bbq is included.
