interesting. The hand gesture is a bit starnge though.

When i was first approached in St Louis airport back in December, it was kinda awkward having a complete stranger come up to me and shake my hand and say thanks. After one person took the initiative, others watching would do the same. Then i'd get it at the malls and even at diners. It does feel good that with all the negative opinions of the war, people still realize we are just doing our job.

I get a ton of people saying thank you to me. Lots try to buy me a drink if they find out I'm military. My response to that is go buy one for a Soldier or Marine... I'm just in the Chair Force, ha ha!!! Although I have done my short tour in Iraq already. It is nice, but it is awkward for some reason....
