from the y it goes to a highflow cat and then a e-cutout under the pass rear seat or through the magnaflow. Im gona look into doing a 2.5" catback later down the road

arock - just got it back and ill do a new vid, maybe today but if not sometime tomorrow morning.

ok got it welded in and made a new vid. Also made a CAI which is really loud. All together i can really notice a bid diffference in the acceleraction. I have yet to really stomp on it but all in due time.

the engine is still dirty after installing the headers and i need to finish polishing the alternator. still messing with wire cover options so its not by any means a finished project but i made some nice progress.

New you tube vid of the welded up headers

is that plenum ceramic or powdercoated? i am doing a 3.4. conversion in my 2.8 87 bird. i am using 3.4 motor with 2.8 plenum. i had it ported and ceramic coated. looks nice. where did you get the pacesetters and how much.

yea - i think it has something to do with the check valve on the fuel pump not holding pressure. Full tank of gas it starts right up and anything less it takes two hard cranks if not warm'd up already.

thats one helluva nice 6er

Thanks maro - lots changed even from that vid last week - got my spoiler and front gfx back from paint and the engine bay got simplified and cleaned up a bit

the upper intake was polished on the car. Lots of elbow grease and sandpaper. Uses a dremel or palm sander for the large areas. Oh and take the darn thing off to do it - sounds like u have the engine out of the car if your doing a swap anyway. Start with 100 grit and work your way up to 2000 or 2500 grit SP, then go get some mothers aluminum polish (little bit more than the other option at your local advanced/auto/pep store but it worked really well) Also if your looking for a power gain from your swap to the 3.4 from the 2.8 i would suggest going over to fullthrottlev6.com and looking into the upper intake swap and head swap as these 3.4 flow like **** on the top end.

The headers came from HerronPerformance for 342 shipped for free and quick. Great place. And if I would suggest getting the stage8 #6910 locking header bolts but i would not order from (well i wont mention the place) ordered on the 17th of last month and didnt recieve till the 1st of this month. so they did not make my header install and i have them on my desk right now - if u want them shoot me a PM and well work something out.

thanks, yea it took some time and looks good from a far but is not show quality - i think of it as a nice looking daily driver. I think i want to try and throw on those edlebrock valve covers but the is a slight modification that im still trying to figure out, cant find anyone who has done it yet. WHen i do that ill have the upper intake off the car so ill make it look better then

cleaned up the engine, resprayed the wheel wells and painted/cleaned up the alternater. Also cut the breather line so it fits in the engine better and does not go all the way to the iuntake elbow.

na thats just the crome wire loom covers from spectre at your local autoparts store. I had most of my radiator hoses covers in the stainless steel stuff from ecklerscamaro but it started to turn an off yellow shade and I could clean it up so I took it off. The stuff thats on there now is only 9 buck so if it peels or gets dirty somehow ill just pick up some more. But thanks anyway - the brake rervour cover is on next paycheck and some nice MDS coils or wire will finish the engine for me (for now).

Don't bother with the coils....the stockers are more than adequate for all but the most extreme performance cases. A good set of wires never hurts though.

yea I agree with u 100% and have read that in many places but i think its more of an appearance thing - they are down the road as they're $50 each.

If appearance is your only motivation, why not make up a relocation bracket and get them off of the front of the motor. Get them out of the way and you won't have to worry about it, and your engine bay will look less cluttered.

never even crossed my mind - where would they go then? Im not much of a fabrication person. Also dont u think there would be this "hole" where they used to be that might seem a little off.

Tru2Chevy

You could stick them anywhere else you want. All it would require is a simple bracket to connect the coil mount to another part of the bay, and then you might have to lengthen the section of the wiring harness that connects to them. You'll prolly also wanna make your own plug wires for the best fit, or you could always measure the approximate distance to each plug from where you wanna mount the coils and find a universal kit that has wires that are approximately that length.

no problem....I only thought of it because some of the gen 1 W-body guys do it. the coils are mounted directly underneath of the exhaust manifold on them, and some worry about them overheating there (I don't think that was really an issue though).

that engine bay does look nice. they should make a cover for the headlight to rad support and over the washer bottle.

yea that bottle is an eye sore right at the front of the engine compartment - thought about getting it out and just painting it to help hide it alittle.

yea but when a pterodactyl size seagull unloads a healthy one and im left with either praying for rain or smearing it with dry wipers - id like the option to spray something on it till i can wash it off

"Origin
Though the car's name was contrived with no meaning, Chevrolet researchers reportedly found the word in a French dictionary as variation of informal speech (slang) for "friend", "chum", or "companion."[citation needed] In some automotive periodicals before official release, it was code-named "Panther", however, the project designation for the Camaro was XP-836 and some early GM photos show the final Camaro body labeled "Chaparral".[2] Automotive press asked Chevrolet product managers "What is a Camaro?", and they were told it was "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs".[3] The name conveniently fit Chevrolet's "C" naming structure that included Corvair, Chevelle, Chevy II, and Corvette." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camaro
