Im going to court friday for that 31 over ticket. Hopefully theyll let me plead unsafe operations. But until then, anybody have any experience with the woodbridge municipal court?

Dress for court (Don't necessarily need a suit, but a decent polo shirt and khakis go a long way with judges sick of seeing the young folk come to court in baggy jeans, gang colors and work shirts with pictures of weed on them) and make sure you're early enough to speak with the prosecutor.

Don't worry so much man. I once went to court for a bad speeding ticket and it was my first offense ever. First offenses usually don't get looked at as badly as other offenses. Just do what others say and dress nice. Did you get a lawyer? The fees suck, but if you get the lawyer to talk to the officer that gave you the ticket, they may be able to work something out. I was nervous just like you the first time in court. And the memory does stay with you after a little while, but once its over, just do 5 MPH or less over the speed limit for a long while, and try to stay away from the area you got pulled over in, if possible. You'll be okay.

Hey, no i didnt get a lawyer. i was contemplating it...but i asked around ALOT from everyones experiences and just as you told me...first offences dont get looked at as badly as other offenses. but if i did drop 300-400 on a lawyer, it really isnt garunteed that they could do much more than i could do, and trust me, ive already started working on the 5 under limit haha, ive been driving like a grandma since that ticket

It'll all work out for you. I actually paid for a lawyer for my first offense and he was able to knock wreckless driving down to careless driving. Plus, no points on the license. Lets just say I stay clear of the Bridgewater part of rt 22 now. I know its tough not to open your car up on a highway. For as fast as my car can go, I only rapidly accelerate on the highway until I get up to 65 and then drop it back down to 55 again. Cheap mild thrill. lol. NJ car insurance is just way too damn expensive anymore. I can't believe so many people at Rutgers speed like they do and they never get caught by the cops. I am willing to bet that you will wait for your turn for a long time to stand before the judge, and then he will go over the report quickly, and then ask you 1 or 2 questions, and make a simple and quick judgement. He'll probably just tell you to slow it down in the future and good bye. Just don't be nervous.
