You Shook Me All Night Long is puke inducing. Back in Black is very overplayed too.

Not really. I haven't heard them that often on the radio, and they flat out rock, so I think it would take a lot to overplay them.

Good question. I absolutely love AC/DC but I'll turn the station if one of their more popular songs is on the radio (You shook me, Thunderstruck, Hell's Bells, Highway to Hell, etc) but if it's something rare (like the kick ass live version of Heat Seeker) I'll crank it up.

Yeah, what radio? I don't think AC/DC can be overplayed. Then again, I rotate CDs often. :)

I love AC/DC. Can't wait til they tour again. They are coming out with a new album by the end of this year.
Yes, they do overplay shook me all night long and back in black, and probably have another drink on me.
But I think Nirvana is way way way too overplayed. I can't stand Nirvana and am tired of listening to them. Kurt died years ago and they act like the guy is still touring by the amount they play his music.

As far as AC/DC, I wished they played Who made Who, or Big Gun, and Thunderstruck more.

I am convinced that Nirvana, Maroon 5, and Nickelback sold their souls to the devil to get that much airplay. Ridiculous.

Depends on the station you listen to. If I listen to ZZO too long, they tend to over play them. But most of the time I have sirius on, rarely local stations

I dont hear them much at all? What stations?
If I hear another Maroon 5 song, Im going to blow up the radio station.

Highway to Hell...I used to sync my CD playing when I went to college so that when I got onto 91 in CT, that the song would play.

Ive got the biggest balls of them all!

I am telling you all, if you listen to the radio frequently enough, you can definitely hear Nickleback on various channels about every 5 mins. No joke, I was taking a long ride to PA and went through Sussex Country and the whole ride up to Sussex they literally had Nickleback on every few rock stations either playing simultaneiusly or one song right after another.

I am so sick of Nirvana too. I know I said it before, but I am tired of hearing kurt's voice which sounds like either a guy with a soar throat or a boy going through puberty.

NIRVANA, NICKLEBACK, and MAROON 5. These have to be the most overplayed groups on the radio. And that damn country singer girl from American Idol. I think I am going to switch back to listening to AM again with the oldies.

This was a good thread to start.

ugh, nirvana. i went from 92.3 to 104.3 to 105.5 once, and all 3 were playing nirvana. 3 different songs too

This is exactly why I burn lots of different mix CDs and have XM.....I rarely listen to regular radio.

enough is enough with certain bands... Zeppelin, ACDC, Pearl Jam , Nirvana (/puke), Lynyrd Skynyrd , Metallica even . There are sooooo many talented bands throughout the last 5-30 years why always the same select few?

disclaimer... i love and enjoy all of the aabove bands, Im just sick of hearing them on the radio.

The problem with radio is just what's already been illustrated here: They take a perfectly good band, pick three or four songs and play the everloving crap out of them. AC/DC has a ton of great songs, but all you ever hear is Hell's Bells, Back in Black and occasionally, TNT.

Up in my neck of the woods in Sussex County, I can only get in one station in the garage. That's right, one station (Sadly, the CD player died, probably due to all of the metal dust I throw around in there with the grinder and I'm too cheap to buy satellite until they figure out the whole Sirius/XM debate). That's it. It happens to be Franklin's rock station, the equivalent of 104.3. I never liked Rush (Not much of a pot smoking, laser light show watching hippie) or U2 (Die, Bono...just die...the starving children will thank you), but I now hate them enough to find an excuse to use the noisiest tool in my arsenal when they come on, which is at least three times in a five hour period (Six on 'Two for Tuesday').

You guys get some crappy radio stations.
92.3 plays popular rock, not many "new" songs
95.9 the Rat is one of the best stations around here. Every night at 10, they have Massive Metalica where they play a bunch of Metalica songs for about 20 mins or so.
101.9 is a new station that seems to play good stuff all around. From the 60's to present, its all rock.
106.3/106.5 is a decent station. When any of those 3 fail, I go to this one.

They gotta start playing the really good songs like Whole Lotta Rosie, Shoot to Thrill, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, Let There Be Rock, Dirty Deeds, Jailbreak.....The list goes on and on.............

yeah those are basically my stations. if they are commercials or crap songs, i hit up 104.3 and 105.7 for some classic rock! 101.9 is good though....nice mix

Classic rock radio stations are the worst - they must have playlists < 500 songs.

Id rather listen to AC/DC on my rock station than some "my girlfriend left me, now i have to cut my wrist" EMO crap or some "i can't sing worth a crap so i will shout some incoherent garbage and everyone will bang their heads and pretend they are a bad ass" ****...plus AC/DC always gets me pumped up, especially Thunderstruck and Have a Drink on Me...
