Well I work at advanced auto and ontodays truck shipment my mouth was watering. Apparently to Advanced Corporate having a "performance" section is beginning to phase out of rise burner crap and phase into "Lets stock lots of nice stuff for SBC's".
We got 2 nice pairs of valve covers, an edlebrock carb, intake, some really nice AEM filters, MSD streetfire distrib, steetfire ignition box and coil, flow master 40's to name some.
Keep your eyes open and dont rule out Advanced the next time your looking for something.

I haven't been into the Advance by me, but the local Autobone actually has been ok to me with stuff I've needed on the fly. Too bad the counter guys are idiots...

the performer rpm intake worked good on my old 305 though
they even sell cams behind the counter

My hooker coated LT's came from Advance. I used to get a lot of stuff there due to the heavy discount my company gets with them :)
Im actually thinking about working at one part time.
And its Advance...not Advanced.

The guys in my store are actually quite knowledgable. I know enough to be 3 steps ahead of the average shmoe that comes in.
And yeah I know we've had some of the things but my point being that they are expanding the in stock selection.

you take your job a little too seriously. honestly 3 steps ahead the average shmoe isnt enough for car guys. that means your 10 years behind.

How do I take my job a little too seriously? Because I dont consider myself to be some knuckle head thats just there because its another retail job to get paid at? Or is it because I consider myself to be informed enough to help the average person with their daily car problems?
Please next time your in Ocean County why dont you come down to the Advance Auto on route 88 in Point in bring my up to speed 10 years... :rollseye:

yeah well 90% of the people there are just average, the 10% that come in that are car people would love for someone atleast HALF knowledgeable behind the counter.
