I just got word from my father today that I will be heading the research department for this years Rolex Vintage festivals in Laguna Seca and Lime Rock!!! This year they are getting the A1 info from your's truely, and this time, getting paid. The only downside is that this is Rolex's last year at Lime Rock due to their contract ending after this year, and the way it's looked there, I dont think they will resign, but I really hope they do cause that track holds alot of fond memories for me. I should be getting an e-mail anytime soon now containing the info on 4 of the cars this year. there should be a couple more cars, but for now I got my work cut out for me. :D

Basically the Vintage festival is a famous race on Speedtv youll see on there. GT40's Porsche's, Ferrari's , Chevron's and other vintage race cars come out and race. Now what I do ther is Rolex is the main sponser for it, and we set up a museum featuring anywhere from 5-9 cars. Last year we celebrated Laguna Seca and Lime Rock's 50th anniversey, so the theme for that year was cars from 1957, which included A Maserati 450 that won Sebring that year, a Jaguar D type, and the worlds only Corvette SS, and a few other cars. Now as well as having these cars on display, there are walls and stands that have info on the cars. Our company sets up the museum, and researchs the cars history. For the past 3 years ,they either got computer graphic guys to find out the info, and last year they hired someone, but they all sucked to be honest, and after these past 3 years of tellign my dads boss the mistakes in the writing or info, they decided to put me on payroll to find them the info for this year. And not only do I find the info, but I also go and help them setup the museum, and bring in the cars! a couple years ago, I brought in a Ferrari 312 T2 and a Porsche 935 that won the 24hours at Daytona in 1978. Heers a few pics to help ya invision the museum:

Well for the McLaren, to make a long story short, the belts were so tight on me in the car cause of how big I was, and such, but the car stopped so fast, I was getting slack out of the belt!! I didnt know a car could turn like that, and I dont care who you are, to sit mere inches behind a 12 cylinder BMW screeming, its almost better then sex. When I got out of the car I had to stand for a little bitthere to regain my breath and voice :)
As for the Corvette SS, its the worlds only SS Corvette. I met the last living person to race it, and it only raced at one track, the 12 hours of Sebring, and lasted 23 laps lol. The cars body was made out of magnesium. It was supposed to race at other tracks but guess what, not much later GM began their no racing debacle that killed the cars destined future. When I talked to John Fitch ( the last driver oft he car) we asked him about the car and how it felt, I have it on tape and ill post it sometime, he dogged the car lol. Ironically, the car actually saved the Corvette. GM was looking to get rid of the Vette, but the Big Z man himself headed the design and what not for the car, and persuaded the GM brass to keep the Vette to stay, and saved the Corvette name. I have more pictures of the Display and the car, and if you want to see the car in person its at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway museum. Oh and see the #1 indy car ( not the Ferrari) sitting there, the last front engine car to win at Indy? yeah it got damaged coming out of the trailer lol. it was so low, an oil line got hit ona piece of metal on the trailer and ripped it right off lol. I didnt do it, the driver of the trailer company did it lol.
