got a code 1661 anyone know what this is

P1661 is for the MIL control CKT. It looks like the PCM monitors the circuit to make sure the Check Engine light is actually working when its supposed to. Does the Check engine light come on during the bulb test?

no it does not come on during the bulb test so what i have to trace the wiring or mabe the bulb out

May be different depending what year your car is, but on a 97 Z28 the bulb always has power to it and the PCM controls the ground. I'd make sure you have voltage to the bulb and make sure the bulb is good, then move to the ground circuit. It could be the bulb, wiring or possibly the PCM.
