actually...you know why dog pounds have like a 25$ charge for dogs instead of giving them away for free? people abuse animals but that 25$ defers them from getting one to hurt it...i hope nobody on here is out to hurt these though they are adorable

06-28-2008, 05:01 PM
Just want to say Thanks for the great response I got on this post. The kittens have all been taken and now have new homes. Thanks so much.
Tony...Hopefully he will come out soon once he gets used to the new place

Frosty
06-28-2008, 05:07 PM
Yeah, he started coming out a little, I made him eat, his "safe" area is under my futon. He started to play a little then ran back under, he's sleeping now. He'll be fine I think.

Dude, let me tell you, I felt like crap taking him since he was crying so much and when the mother came to the carrier to see why he was crying I damn near changed my mind, lol.

The baby food trick worked so far with him eating some hard food, I'll try some wet food later tonight.

my82roc
06-28-2008, 05:16 PM
The mother cat has been walking around here meowing for awhile every now and then.I guess she is looking for her babies. She only has the little grey one that I kept.Hope that keeps her happy for now.Im glad to hear that he ate some food.It might take some time but like I said he should be fine once he adjusts to his new surroundings

sweetbmxrider
06-28-2008, 06:21 PM
these three guys are awesome!! the black one meowed for like 15 minutes on the ride home then they all just sat curiously looking around. all of them ate some and played some. then the two crashed on my friend and the other went exploring. he was playing under my futon as well!! they are sleeping together now, so adorable...

Frosty
06-28-2008, 06:44 PM
He's been exploring, he likes shoes. I got him some of the powdered milk but he wont eat it out of a dish. Gonna try a bottle next.

He's out cold right now, he was running around chasing his own shadow a little while ago lol

06-28-2008, 06:48 PM

Frosty
06-28-2008, 07:03 PM
This little SOB won't eat for me. He gobbles up the baby food but won't touch the dry or wet food. If put some of the baby food on the food he just licks until the baby food is off of it.

Well he learned how to jump up on the futon already lol. This little guy is an attention whore. He's warmed up now and won't stop asking for attention haha

Marc you have a PM

Yeah the little orange female was a very cool kitten.I got really attached to her.She was the brave one and was always roaming around and into something.I think she was the first one to eat regular food too.

MOST orange cats will always want attention. That's why they're always right by whatever they see you by (book and keyboard). My 3 y/o male sleeps in my computer chair and will sit in front of the screen when I'm on the computer. My new kitten hasn't figured out how not to get tripped over in the morning.

Just for those that have orange cats :)

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/155716/seven_reasons_to_adopt_an_orange_cat.html

Seven Reasons to Adopt an Orange Cat

Self-serving, independent and unfriendly are typical stereotypes of cats, and also common reasons why they aren't the pet of choice. Even though people claim that the color of fur does not determine personality, after conducting an informal survey with cat owners, it was found that orange cats do have a different personality than your typical cat. Whether you've made the decision to adopt a cat, or you haven't because you think they are too self-serving and independent, an orange male cat is the best addition to your family, and here are seven reasons why.

1. They boost your self-esteem. Unlike any other cat, orange males seem to thrive on the very existence of their family. They also have a tendency to gaze at their humans lovingly.

2. Most cats hate the thought of too much human-time and plan their day accordingly. This is not the case for the orange male, for at times, they seem more like a dog than cat. They love to sit on your lap and are content as long as you are sitting near them and petting their fur.

3. Goofiness is a trait that orange cats are well-known for. It seems like they enjoy hearing their humans laugh. Whether its running around crazily or just acting like a clutz, they love to make sure you are happy.

4. Typical cats could care less when you walk in the door-if anything, it makes them unhappy to know that their independence is now thwarted for the rest of the day. Unlike this typical "I don't care about you" personality, orange cats are enthusiastic to see you at the end of the day. Most likely, they will sprint to the door to greet you.

5. Like most cats, orange cats are litter trained in a blink of an eye (unlike puppies and other pets!).

6. Did I mention that they love to sit on your lap and get attention from you?

7. Because of their extreme friendliness, they will easily fit into the routine of your home-no matter the other pets.

8. And, I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but they love to sit on your lap and get all kinds of attention...

If you are looking for your typical cat that exists in his or her own world, then the orange cat is not for you. However, most complaints about cats are about their selfish attitudes and completely different personalities from dogs. But, if you are looking for a loving, goofy, enthusiastic and attention-thriving cat, go for the orange male.
