There is one more piece I need to complete the graphix work on Captain American AMX: a custom "mascot" cartoon which will consist of the comic book character Captain America, but with an AMC logo on his chest and shield. This figure will be going on my trunk. Anywho, my graphix guy said it will be very complicated and 'spensive to airbrush it, so he wants to get it done as a decal. Fine by me. But he doesn't have the right software to reproduce it, so he needs to farm it out to someone. Again, fine by me. Well, three weeks ago when I picked the car up his partner told me it would be about 3 days for them to work it out, then I would just need to bring the car back so they could put it on. Again, fine by me. Well, that week passed, then another week, than almost a full other week. So, I'm like WTF? So, I called him on Friday, and basically got a "pass the buck" that his partner was on vacation for a week, and he would leave her a note to call me on Monday. OK...my phone was ringing Monday morning, but it wasn't her. And she never called. So, today I called her. N' I got a buncha smak, smak, jaw breaking about how she was on vacation, and her partner was busy, and she didn't want to leave the comic book I gave her with the figure with the other graphix place, etc etc etc. So, I guess after 13 years of business, having dropped many bux, and having them work with me on a creative level, that I'm just another number...

Well, lemme axe you this: would you appreciate it if somebody f'd with you in the guise of a solution to your prob when you were trying to meet a deadline with something very important to you, IE your car project? See, funny guy Bill is practically my neighbor, so if anyone had an ace in the hole in the area, it would be a guy like him. And at this point if somebody offered me a solution to my problem I'd look into it like yesterday. So, if he offered me some gold along with the bs I'd be laughing all the way to the bank. But nope.

Bob, I actually thought you would find it funny. I apologize if you didn't. I wasn't trying to be a dickhead about it.

In all seriousness, if you are looking to switch graphics places I can see what I can do. I am friends with the graphic designer here at work (who lives in Hillsborough) and he might have a place. It looked to me like you were just venting your frustration.

yeah his names fran, he lives over by my dads work and they use him on a few custom jobs.......in addition to the airbrushing he does vinyl cutting and printing, and freehand pinstriping....he has a sweet setup right at his home, attached garage with an office and a small booth for individual parts, with a loft above it with all the vinyl stuff and an airbrush station.....then a garage out back with the full size spray booth that used to be at my pops work

Heh, now that's my kinda "working from home!" lol Guys like that are touched by God. That kinda talent can't be bought or taught. And it's amazing what can be done w/ vinyl now a days. Some of the big commercial "wraps" they do are pretty mind blowing. I don't know how they can put something that massive on and not have "bubble city" below.
Just amazin'!
